First off let me say I have nothing against old beater pickups. They are very useful and fun to drive, but if you drive one you should realize what it is. So, I'm sitting in a parking lot eating my lunch and this old guy gets out of his beater with a bottle of windex and some paper towels and proceeds to clean his wheels and chrome bumpers on this...............

I mean, I definitely wouldn't go polishing up a truck that looked that bad, but if you like something, why not take care of it (and make it less of a POS ).

I saw this bolted to the roof of a car at 7-11 a couple of years ago. The car was a complete POS. Beat to hell and back and 3/4 full of trash. Seriously...Big fat guy driving, and the rest of the car was top-of-the-seat-full of fast food wrappers.

 

It was hilarious and sad at the same time.

Easy answer: it is his truck and probably paid for. It is painful to see beautiful new trucks looking like crap because the owner has no pride in their vehicle. At least this guy has pride, and does what he can to make his truck look as good as it can. Cheers to him .

+1, I spend a lot of time doing stuff like sanding the plastic parts that have sharp edges, cleaning up the threads on the lug nuts and wheel studs, etc. Neighbors probably don't get it, they just drive their vehicles, oh well if it's got tons of imperfections. $30+ for "new" oil and a "quality" oil filter from Screw You Lube or whoever, oh well.

There is nothing wrong with having pride in your ride... It's just an odd scenario to have an old dude cleaning his early F150 in need of some lovin in the parking lot somewhere.
