I was on my way to work on the interstate and heard a "Whooomph" and saw some feathers scattering in the rear view mirror. I just thought I had tagged some previous roadkill as I was on auto-pilot and not really paying attention.

 

Deciding to stop at a drive-thru car wash and while waiting my turn I noticed I was getting some stares. I naturally assumed my rugged handsomeness was drawing attention so I sat up a bit straighter and flashed my winning smile - the one with the teeth in it.

 

When I got up to the head of the line the cashier gal, in a sweet gum chewing southern drawl, said, "That's gonna cost ya' extra." Thinking she was picking on my bald cranium I looked to her with a sly grin and saw that she was looking a bit higher than me. She then pointed and I got out to look.

 

Not really awake yet and not wanting toss it into the trash of a place I frequent - I just yelled, "Where did the rest of them go?! I'll be right back!" I got back in, pulled out of line and went to work.

 

 

 

 

Had this happened to you - what would you have said?
