Center Cap Question

I just swapped out my winter tires/wheels to my summer set of OEM aluminum, and I have a question regarding the center caps. I have a couple of the plastic lugnut caps on each one that are stripped out and as such won't really tighten too well. Is it possible to swap out the stripped ones, or do I need to get all new center caps? I was trying to figure out if they pop out of the center caps, but to me it isn't very obvious if/how they will come out of there.

Thanks.

Thanks. How do I get those buggers out of the caps? Actually, they are already stripped, so I guess a better question is how do I get new ones in there?

Thanks again.

I think for an new center cap, they are fairly priced. I remember getting a new one when some woman accidentally pulled into me with her minivan, causing minimal damage. I actually winded scuffing one up over the winter while plowing and have the old scuffed up one laying around in one of my garages, I just have to locate it.

A quick ebay search looks like they run about $100 for 4 new caps, and dealer price is about $65 each. The thing is that the caps themselves are fine, I just need about a dozen of the black plastic lug caps. I don't know why they use the airguns to take these off and put them on as it doesn't take much to strip them out.

I'm going to mess around a bit this weekend as I have an old set of center caps from a previous truck and I'm curious to see if the lugs will work off those.

MUCH cheaper to replace the couple that are stripped.

Just push on them they will pop out, Its a tight fit, but they will push out. I carry a socket and re-tighten the loose ones once in awhile. I've thought about putting a couple small drops of loc-tite on em to keep from loosen up...
