I can tell you just by the VIN its a 1/2-ton 4x4 with the 4.8 V8.

Nope,Its got the 4.8....The eighth digit is a "V" (If it was a 5.3 it would be a "T")

Although I had a 4.8 in my '99 and it was a fine motor,The guy still has the truck with over 150,000 miles on it,Its still going strong!!

its a performance thing not a durability thing......i need at least a knn and electric fans to beat a same modle 5.3 truck
