You can scan through the gauge and one of the setup modes shows what the truck reading has defaulted to.... this will help you program the gauge. My 04 Suburban showed VPW and the associated codes worked really well. I don't have the gauge in front of me, or I could tell you the exact path of how to get there. Sorry. Looking after the kids right now...
