Ricky Rudd is the current leader with with 654 consecutive starts [Rudd is on pace to break Terry Labonte's record at Charlotte in the Coca Cola 600] followed by Rusty Wallace at 563, Ken Schrader with 533 and Mark Martin has 448 consecutive Cup starts; also Jeff Gordon has started 304 consecutive races (and NEVER used a provisional). Terry Labonte had 655 (and holds the all time record) but sat out the 2000 Brickyard 400 to end his record streak. Dale Earnhardt had 648 consecutive Winston Cup starts until his death at Daytona(4-28-2002)

TIE #28-Ricky Rudd will tie Terry Labonte's 'Iron Man' streak of consecutive Cup races started at Richmond this weekend. The streak started in 1981, something from ESPN2's RPM 2 Night: #97-Kurt Busch was 2 years old, #12-Newamn was 3, #48-Johnson was 5 as was #29-Harvick and #8-Earnhardt Jr was 6.(5-3-2002)
