Jacqson Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 I've been wanting to put an HD hood on my Suburban for awhile so I finally bit the bullet and got it done. Let me know what you think. Before After
hockeypro1411 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 It really completes the whole look! I don't remember seeing your truck on her before , but it looks great!

Matt427 Posted May 25, 2009 Posted May 25, 2009 It looks great. I'd like to do the same on my '03 K2500 Suburban. Is that a GM hood or aftermarket?

If you plan on doing this don't use an aftermarket hood because nothing fits better than an OEM part. I know you can buy these hoods brand new from GM for about $350.00 but I'm sure if you check around you should be able to find a used one. Here is a link. You're looking for an 01-02 2500HD Hood with option code HVY. http://www.car-part.com/

Yeah, you're right, I definitely wouldn't go with aftermarket body panels. Incorrect fit, inferior sheet metal, and poor corrosion resistance are almost guaranteed with most aftermarket parts.
brims Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Not a huge physical difference between the 2 hoods, but makes the truck look good.
P71_CrownVic Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Now you need drop a 8.1 in there! Funny, I didn't even realize that the 2500 trucks of that time had different hoods.
bigredmariner Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 I love it. I have always been a fan of that "thunder-dome" hood. The 'burb looks really good with that hood.
Stevens03 Posted May 26, 2009 Posted May 26, 2009 Looks awesome! Congrats. It's quite a transformation in my view.
