i flew yesterday back to AZ out of Sacramento Airport (i visited Grass Valley for a wedding..) and I kinda had an eerie feeling about the flight. but everything was okay.

hope everything is alright with the flight and all those people.

I was on a plane to Australia where the engine caught fire 2 hours into it. That sucked, I couldn't get back on a plane for a little while. They made us wait 14 hours for the next flight out, I had too much time to think about the whole scenario.

I was on a flight from Miami to Dallas and there were some electrical issues. About every 10-15 minutes all the electronics in the cabin would abruptly shut off, TV. lights, air even the emergency lights. This happened for about an hour before the captain got on and said that they were experiencing some electrical issues, but not to worry because they have enough fuses. Um if you have to replace that many fuses I think you got a problem and need to set this bad boy down before the “electrical issue” turns the plane into a rock.

My best guess as to what happened would be:

- A Bomb

- Fire in the Oxygen System (Emergency O2 Tanks)

- Fire in the Fuel System

- Severe Turbulance which pushed the airframe past what it could handle

- Structul failure leading to sudden de-compression (fast enough that not even the pilots would have enough time to get their O2 masks on before they were dead.

Whatever happened, happened VERY fast which likely means everyone died quickly while still up at high altitude.

(The aircraft was at around 35,000 feet, going at about Mach 0.81 or so.

Edit: They are just now beginning to find some of the pieces of the aircraft in the ocean.

There are reports that the plane sent out messages reporting of electrical malfunctions and failures as well as cabin depressurization. This does sound like turbulence leading to structural damage but the A330, like most airliners, is designed to handle extreme turbulence so the plane should have still been flyable. It was an Airbus, though, and their electronics have a history of causing fatal issues.

if it was sudden decompression up at 35,000 feet, believe me, they were dead well before they hit the ground. As for it being Airbus... I make it a point to not fly on Airbus aircraft when I can. I do not feel safe on them since getting on a fairly new A319 delivered to Frontier Airlines and seeing broken seats, cracked wall pannels, and a tray table that fell into my lap when I went to fold it down. I am happy to say that "If it's not a Boeing, (or McDonnell Douglas which is now owned by Boeing) I'm not going!"
