What's This & Where Does It Go?

I've got a 2007 3500HD Duramax/Allison DRW. Was rinsing the inside of the engine compartment in the front (radiator area) & when in got done and moved the truck I found something on the ground where the front of the truck was. It's a round rubber piece that's green in color & is a little over an inch in diameter. It's shaped so as to fit into a hole like a cap. On the front are the words "REENCLENCHER" (the first E after the R has a bar on top) and "RESET". So, it looks like a rubber cover for reset push button.

 

Is this off my vehicle & if so, where does it go & what does it do??

I had the exact same thing appear in my driveway, under my 2004 Silverado 6 liter. Any advice, help on this?

maybe the button for the NOS .....................does the new radiators have drain caps? that would be my only guess, as i don't know the layout of the duramax at all under the hood

Some of the air cleaners had a reset buttons on an indicator that showed if the filter was stopped up or not. That s the only reset button i can think of under the hood.

i just had this thought....it made me laugh....have you ever though about pulling dirty tricks on people...in the middle of the night...like...walk up to there driveway with a quart of oil and pour it under there car....to simulate it came out of there motor and when they back up there like WTF!!!...

 

or antifreeze...or just a part off a vehicle slide it under where they are parked...

 

Think mechanics do this to people...when they get slow....

 

I know im screwed up to even think of this...just thought it'd be a good joke I know it'd work on my wife ....

"REENCLENCHER" is French for "RESET". If your air cleaner isnt missing the part I would suggest asking the dealer where it goes.
