What's This & Where Does It Go?

I've got a 2007 3500HD Duramax/Allison DRW. Was rinsing the inside of the engine compartment in the front (radiator area) & when in got done and moved the truck I found something on the ground where the front of the truck was. It's a round rubber piece that's green in color & is a little over an inch in diameter. It's shaped so as to fit into a hole like a cap. On the front are the words "REENCLENCHER" (the first E after the R has a bar on top) and "RESET". So, it looks like a rubber cover for reset push button.

Is this off my vehicle & if so, where does it go & what does it do??

REENCLENCHER means reset in French. Was your truck made in Canada perhaps?

Might want to read through your owners manual or look for pictures in it of a reset button under the hood.

You know I was thinking about this, it sounds like this might be the reset button on the air filter monitor thing. You know the one on the housing that shows if your air filter is in need of cleaning.

As mentioned, post a picture.

I have an '07 3500HD.....I'll have a look tomorrow and see if I can see a 'green' reset something_or_other. ;)

Just went and had a look at my truck and it's exactly what bigredmariner suggested, it's the end cap of the reset button on the air filter gauge.
