hivoltg Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 It's been a while since I've been here but I remember seeing a digital guage that would fit in an a-pillar pod last time I was here. It would keep up with several different settings such as temp, trans. temp., etc and it would also read and clear trouble codes. It plugged into the port under the dash. Does this sound familiar to anyone? Where can I find one? Thanks Volt
takevin Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 probably mine, interceptor aerogauges www.aeroforcetech.com best you can get.
pwall Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I 2nd the Interceptor Aerogauge. I had one in my YukonXL so I could keep an eye on the transmission temperature when towing. There is another type, scangauge I believe, but it's a rectangle shape. Here is what the interceptor would look like once installed (picture from our good friend Trey):
hivoltg Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 YEP! That's it! This site rocks. Now for another question. I like the look of the dual gauge pod, so what other gauge should I get to go with it? I read a thread where someone was talking about a vacuum gauge being helpful?? What would you fellas recommend i get to go in the other gauge pod? This is going in a 04 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 with the 5.3 engine Thanks again for all the help VOLT
takevin Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 I got two of the same gauges, you can see pics in my garage, that way you can have 8 different functions to cycle thru
hivoltg Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 I got two of the same gauges, you can see pics in my garage, that way you can have 8 different functions to cycle thru OK. Help out a noob here. How do I get to your garage?
hivoltg Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Also, does anyone make a double gauge pod that replaces the a-pillar or are the all the type that goes over the existing one? I'm looking for the cleanest, most factory looking install I can find Thanks VOLT
Jennabear Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 I have the Interceptor as well. I will see if I can get Justin to run outside and take a pic, I have the dual A-pillar gauge pod with a DM-100.

Lazyass! It is raining! I have the Interceptor as well. I will see if I can get Justin to run outside and take a pic, I have the dual A-pillar gauge pod with a DM-100. DM-100? Again, I'm a noob here so please be patient. No worries. I am running two gauges, the Interceptor and a PLX DM-100. The PLX is my wideband gauge (plus many more things) and is probably overkill if you are running a stock truck.
hivoltg Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 Yep. My truck is stock. i have a Magnaflow exhaust and drop in K&N filter. Been thinking about getting a tune from ya'll though. Other tan that, it's just as it left the factory. I do some towing with it on a regular basis though. I am wanting the Interceptor for its code reading and clearing abilities. Maybe I will put a trans. temp. gauge in the other hole on a dual a-pillar pod. Anyone know how much trouble it would be to hook up an autometer (or similar) trans temp gauge? Any instrustions would be awesome Thanks again for all the help Volt
Jennabear Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 The Interceptor will do your tranny temp (main reason I got it). It is really easy to hook up, just pop it into the OBDII port.
hivoltg Posted June 4, 2009 Author Posted June 4, 2009 SO I really just need one gauge. 2 looks better but I can't think of anything to put in the other pod
Jennabear Posted June 4, 2009 Posted June 4, 2009 You could run two Interceptors if you wanted, but really, you get all the info you could need in one. If you plan on running FI you could run a Boost gauge!
