Does the stabilitrak system have any connection to the shocks?

no they are not connected, but if the truck starts to feel "excessive" body roll stabilitrack will kick in and automatically apply the brakes

On the pickups? No.

 

There are some GM vehicles equipped with magnetic ride that Stabilitrak can interact with, though.
