Haha Look What I Made Today

Ive been banging my head for days to figure out where I can install my CD player and 6x9's, because theres VERY limited space in the cab and I dont want to cut the dash up, so this is my first stage of customization to the cab, this will mount behind the seat and will cover up the rear window with exception to the sliding glass, which I'll still be able to open. :D

Eventually Ill be installing a connecting overhead unit that stretches to the windshield which will house the CD player, I'll post pics as the project progresses.

I think the driver side speaker is slightly crooked, but thats an easy fix.

Yeah, visibility is fine, I dont even see the panel in the rear view mirror and I can see my blind spots great with exception to the driver side...instead of bending back and looking out the rear window I have to bend forward and look out the driver window...but its nothing major.

Its in and working, I left the CD player under the dash for now, as I have no idea how to support the overhead console in the front...sounds great, Ill take some pics tomorrow when its daylight out.

looks good... only thing i would do different would be to put some limo tint on the 2 side panels behind the speakers.. It would protect it from wondering eyes, and make it look cleaner :P

That's a damn crazy good idea. Bet you don't have any problem hearing the radio, seriously it looks nice, great job. Keep us posted I really want to see the final product. :P

Yeah I thought about that...good thing about the way I did it is that its not mounted to the cab but its tight...so I can remove it and retint the rear windows.

Actually the radio gives me a headache now, for some reason the speakers emits a loud high pitched sound now depending on the engines RPM...I searched here and found a few topics, but they all said it was the ground...I redid all the wires and firmly mounted them to the body and its still there...someone suggested to ground it straight to the battery...tried that and it still didnt work...any ideas?

Did you replace the deck too? If you did, make sure the ground for that is good too. I had an amp do this same thing until I stepped the ground up to a larger gauge.

Yeah the deck is a 240w Pioneer CD player...Ive noticed if I removed the ground wire the player continues to play, but the buzzing in the speaker doesnt increase or decrease. :dunno:

Inline fuse or noise suppressor didnt work...the car I took them out from didnt have this problem, Im using the same deck and speakers.
