New Lower Ball Joint Missing Boot Lip

I had lift kit put on few weeks ago. I just noticed (as I have not had time to inspect everything on the truck due to med school) that my lower ball joint, which is new, is missing about 1/10 of the base lip that keeps the grease boot sealed. SO, I can't keep the boot filled, as grease just oozes out the edge cause it can't seal onto anything.

 

I can't drive back to where i had the work done as it is in miami, fl and I am back home in tallahassee; 8 hours away. Gas alone is more than me redoing this if needed.

 

So, if i end up not being able to fix this with JB weld and some good ole sealant of some type, is it possible for me to replace the lower ball joint at home using one of the ball joint press systems from Autozone rental tool program?

 

Anyone ever done it at home?
