borla xr1 race muffler 3.5 inlet 3.5 outlet

Recommended Posts

Could you upload a sound clip?

Possibly tonight.. Work gets in the way

Are you getting that noise that everyone is talking about cause you removed the valve?

The 'noise' isn't that bad, v4 mode.. Depends what RPM you're at but i got used to it. I really didn't want that valve freezing closed in the winter so I just got it removed.

Update.. finally put my tips on today. Left the flapper on and deleted the resonator.. sounds good. From the start I wanted to do my own version of a gm borla catback. And the final result... sounds better and I saved alot of money.. highly recommend. And to those who might ask yes I drove a 2015 6.2 with the gm borla catback and interior sound is the same but the outside sound is louder on mine...

I used 40086.. damn near the same muffler. No resonator, no flapper valve.. Sounds perfect.

It really barks on cold startup, not too obnoxious towing either.

What differentiates the 40086 and the 40722? Why is the price so different? Sorry for resurrecting this thread.

I'd delete the resonator. I love how mine sounds warm start but it's hardly noticeable during daily driving, and mildly noticeable when you stomp it. I want it a little more loud with more growl. Res delete seems to do that. I'd only delete the flapper if you're going to disable AFM.
