Don't say that to loud to your truck. The last two times that happened to me. BANG something tore up. Last time it was the transmission (4l80E) Grenaded itself. Speak very softly around your truck. Don't tell it....you finally have it paid for. CONGRATS on paying off though.

Paid mine off in February....did you notice how it drives better and there is no more anchor dragging behind it....haha

I really don't need an HD anymore, as I don't tow more than a small pontoon boat, it rides a little rough and the MPG is not great....so, I looked at a new 1500 and for the difference in $$$$ I can buy a hellofalot of fuel....grrrr

WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!

Knew I was gonna keep this one for a while. Gonna be nice not having that payment anymore...

Good for you!

I drove my last truck for over 2 years without a payment, I just traded it in on a 2009. My first payment is due first of next month

Very nice....

I once knew a guy that started a car account and made payments to it every month....eventually, he got enough to go buy his car....after he bought his car, he would immediately start making payment into his account every month, saving up for the next car....

could I do this? not.

I do that too. It's nice paying cash, plus you save a few grand not paying interest.

That account would not last long. I'd be dippin' into it for my mods and beer

CONGRATS!!!

I was fortunate enough to pay mine off after 2 years. Been paid off for a year now and I still have NO desire to get rid of it. Don't want the new "earth friendly" diesels!!!

Paid of my 2002 2500HD almost 4 years to the day that I bought it......BTW, I bought that truck new on Sept 12, 2001.

Paid off my wife's 2001 2500HD a couple of months ago. Had to take a cut in pay at work, so we borrowed against some life ins that we have to pay it off. Good, and bad in this deal. Now we owe our life ins, but we don't have that monthly payment hanging over our heads.

What is cool is the fact that the only payment we have right now is our house. Probably be able to see things through the rough economic times when I can get my full pay back, plus I don't have to worry about the loan company coming after her truck, and our credit stays healthy.

I always have said to my friends "you need a lifeboat for a rainy day"......Never thought I would be the one needing the lifeboat.

......Moral of the story......there is always a bright side if you are willing to look for it.

That, and I got someone keeping watch from above that knows just when to send that lifeboat. :seeya:

Oh, and congrats to the O.P. Enjoy that feeling of having the truck paid off.
