My 06 GSXR 1000 is governed at 185 mph, but I've had my speedo read 191 mph on it; guess I'll have to hook up a GPS to get a accurate reading...

My friends Camaro Z28, which had some some engine work and mods done; with 2 of us in it, we were able to get close to 150 mph... I believe that is the fastest I have been in a car or truck....

Over 160 in my friends 2007 Z06 riding shotgun. Cars get wavey on backroads goin that fast. I've been 150 or so on a bike. Bike just feels so stable at those speeds.

Me driving, 140mph in a 1988 BMW 325

As a passenger, 150mph, 1992 Mustang LX 5.0

As a passenger, unknown speed in a 1980 Delta 88. The needle gets buried in the dash above 80mph. It was a 350 4 barrel. Drove full throttle for 10 minutes, burnt 1/4 tank of gas. When slowing down for our exit, it felt like we were almost stopped when the needle popped out. No clue how fast, but can't see it above 120mph.

Me driving 90mph in my old 02 Xterra, it was governed at that speed and it took an incline to get there. I guess that 4.63:1 rear end was not meant for speed.

I'm just old enough to remember when we switched from english to metric. My dad's 1976 Corolla has a 2nd speedometer under the dash, because the 1st one was disconnected, something about warranty. He had to get a new gauge face for it with metric on it. Plus all of our speedo have both, so I know where the major numbers are.

60mph = 100km/h

100mph = 160 km/h

112mph = 180 km/h (a lot of my cars speedo stopped at 180)

140 in an '05 Corvette.

I should add it was at a GM "ride and drive" event for us dealers at Atlanta Motor Speedway in '04,and was done under "controlled" conditions!

Its nice to be able to drive that fast and not have to worry about the police,someone pulling out in front of you in another vehicle,or a kid walking out in front of you.

I would never do 140 on public streets.
