Last night I drove my truck on a short trip to the store. When I left the store, I noticed that the idle was really low, and the headlights went dim when I shifted to drive. When I took off, it ran fine. As I made a turn a few minutes later, I shifted to Neutral to see if the rough idle was still there, and it shut off on me. I noticed also, that the clock on the radio reset. I got it re-started, and every time I would slow down to turn, the lights would get dim, and it acted like it wanted to shut off. When I pulled into my driveway, I shifted to Neutral again, and it shut off. I restarted it to try to get a diagnosis. Every time I would shift into a gear, the RPM's go way down, and the headlights get dim. I haven't checked for any codes yet, but I will today. I changed the intake manifold gaskets over a month ago, and it has run fine since. I am gonna check today to make sure nothing has come loose. While driving the volt gauge is showing over 14, but obviously when it wants to shut off the gauge drops way down and light flicker. Please help! This is my only transportation for my kids.

Today I check all the battery cables for corrosion and to make sure they were tight. The truck started fine, and I let idle for close to 10 mins. without any problems. I drove about 5 mins. to my first destination. When I left 10 mins. later, it took 2 cranks for the truck to start. From my second destination, it took the truck 3 cranks to start. After my last stop, it again took 2 cranks to start. Up until now, the truck has always started on the 1st crank. Every time I turned the key, it sounded like a good, strong attempt at starting, but it just would run.

I got it checked for codes, with nothing showing up. I also couldn't get it to duplicate the problem I had last night with the low idle and cutting off on me.

OK, this morning it doesn't even want to start without depressing the accelerator. To drive it this morning, I would have to keep the accelerator slightly depressed the whole time. I pulled the vacuum line off of the fuel pressure regulator, and it was dry. I am gonna get my hands on fuel pressure gauge and see what I can find out.
