He was killed when he was riding his motorcycle and someone talking on a cell phone pulled in front of him. BTW, he was a Silverado owner and performed the DIC upgrade posted on this site. I don't think he was a registered member here, however. Also the seats are right next to ours, so I'll bring you a beer!

how much are you looking to get for them...i saw them on ebay earlier for like 10.00 or something...reason i ask is i will bid on them...

It doesn't matter, they're going to the highest bidder no matter what. It's up to $60 now for both tickets which is still a great deal. It's going around the office of the guy who passed away so that's why I added the memorial picture in there, but it's open for anyone to bid on. He left behind a wife and 3 daughters, and the money is going directly to them.

Thanks for the bump Jim. :jester:

Man Michael,If I was just "a little bit" closer I'd bid on those,I'd love to go to the Texas race, especially since I love Lowe's in Charlotte and never miss a race there!!

Good luck,Hope they go for a lot of $$$$$$ for his family :jester:

What a shame. God speed to his family. I almost hit someone this morning while she was talking on her cell phone, and went right on through a red light. I'm sure glad that I was paying attention, because it sure could've been ugly. :jester: I think I did something to my front suspension when I hit my brakes. It's making some kind of clunking noise, dammit.

The only race I've been to is the Texas one, but I've been several times and we always have a blast (you can bring your own beer!). Someday I want to make it to Bristol...that's the most exciting track (IMO).

All of the studies I've seen show that talking on a phone is worse than being at the BAC legal limit, which is a scary thought.

I've been to...Atlanta,Bristol,Charlotte,Daytona,Indy,Martinsville,Pocono,Richmond,and Talladega.

I've been going to Charlotte for the last 15 years,And I've been going to Bristol for the last 5.

All the other ones have been sprinkled in-between!

If you ever head to Bristol let me know,We'll met up and tailgate together!!!

Although its not the same since they resurfaced it,Plus the COT doesn't help either :smash:

I'm not a big NASCAR fan but I have been to Texas and Daytona. Both were really good times. I think NASCAR has become too many multicar teams for its own good. Going to the Indy 500 and 2 Formula 1 races made me a believer in open wheel racing... BUT - WRC and European Sedan racing are where it's REALLY AT!

OP, I hope the tickets go for a lot. It's a really good cause. Anybody that hasn't been to the Texas race... I can tell you that it is a great time.

Wasn't aware that you could bring your own beer to all NASCAR tracks, that's really interesting. I always thought it was because certain portions of Fort Worth are dry (they don't sell alcohol) so they allowed everyone to bring their own.

And yeah if I ever make it to Bristol I will definitely let you know. I really want to go, but it probably won't be next year.

not sure what COT stands for?

Same here! They are $120 tickets that were paid for by him so we're mainly just trying to get the family their money back. Granted it was short notice and only a 24 hour auction but we have a ways to go before hitting $240. Looks like they'll sell for much less, but who knows maybe there will be a last minute rush.

COT=Car Of Tomorrow,You know....That ugly new car with the "young kids style rear wing" :smash:

Gotcha, and yeah I agree the new body style is not good for the sport. And don't even get my started in restrictor plates.
