Smart, Fit, And Yaris Bad In Crashes

IIHS crashed a Fit into an Accord, a Yaris into a Camry, and a Smart into a C-Class. The small POS tin cans did horrible when crashed into the much more substantial mid-size cars. NFW! Who'd a thought? I wonder what would happen if one of these cars hit a truck?

Watch the Video at the IIHS site (link on the right) at the end it shows the Smart doing a 450!

Thank you Captain Obvious! :dunno:

This is the reason I drive my truck and she drives her Impala. It was funny though, Friday on the Interstate, I saw a Smart Car booking it along. It was passing somebody, but on the other side, so I don't know how fast it was going. It looked quite strange.

This could work in our favor. Say all the retard tree huggers buy smart cars, and they all crash, that should cut the tree hugger population by quite a bit.

Meh...those things literally top out at 90mph, so it couldn't have been going that fast.

The fortwo is supposed to be pretty safe, and is on paper. It's got a really tough steel frame that surrounds the passenger compartment. However, there's only so much you can do to make a car that small safe. I hate the ****ing things. Somehow people have gotten the idea that they're an alternative the the Prius (which I hate even more in a different way), but they're not that efficient (the Fit, Yaris, xB, xD, etc. are quite a bit roomier, more powerful, and faster with similar mileage; let's not forget the Prius, either, as much as I hate it). The diesel they used to sell in Canada got over 70 mpg, but since we Americans "don't like diesels", they release it to us with that Mitsubishi gasser. On top of that, they shift SSSLLLOOOWWWLLLYYY. Think half second shift times. How shitty. The only way they'd be benficial would be if you lived in a packed city. That means they're completely useless anywhere besides places like NYC, Chicage, Atlanta, LA, etc.
