  1. There are some 3.0's in crew/standard box trucks 'here'. Including a few AT4 standard box ones.
  2. You must have LKA - Lane Keep Assist. (the one that nudges the steering) If it and you are able to stay in the lane -- no warning from LDW (Lane Departure Warning). LDW should give a warning if you cross the line (or at least go beyond where the LKA tries to help) without using blinker. FWIW, vehicles without electric steering (like the HD pickups) can have LDW, but not LKA. If it has LKA it will also have LDW, but not necessarily the other way around.
  3. SEO colours are only available on 1WT and 1LT trims (work truck and LT). SEO colours page also says: Note: GM will require 5 orders before sending to the plant. May require extended lead time. Some of the SEO colours are not available on regular cab. FWIW, there are at least 5 yellows in the SEO list.
  4. Which might mean the thump is something related to the 10 speed or the new fan and accessory drive. (what's changed, lets look there first)
  5. Was it smoke or steam / water vapour? Color?
  6. Wireless charging is so slow that I always plug it in if a charge/top-off is wanted. Longer drives give more time for the slower wireless charge to do it's thing, but the longer the drive, the more likely that AA or Carplay, will be in use -- so again the phone would be plugged in.
  7. Last letter I got from GM said the fix was not yet available and they would notify when it is.
  8. I'd bet the tech was incorrect. I can't imagine that they would do something that forces potential customers to redo trailer lights..... I frequent several GM truck forums, with lots and lots of towing reports for the 19/20 1500's and the '20 HD's and have never heard that one. 7 pin plugs (especially those used infrequently) are notorious for collecting contaminant and/or corrosion and requiring maintenance to ensure good connections. If wondered if there are more than one 'standard' that they are built to, resulting in pin/socket connections that are loose enough to make this more difficult. But that's been an issue for many years. (at least with the trucks / trailers that I've run)
  9. No problem, I thought maybe I was missing something. Wife has GM vehicle with the electric tilt/telescope. I prefer the tilt as it is in the truck -- but I do find the trucks telescope annoying. Fortunately I rarely use the telescope. Tilt gets used almost every trip.
  10. Not trying to be argumentative, but are you sure you 2019HD Denali was electric tilt/telescope? I'm only curious because my 18 HD Denali doesn't have it, so I got curious and looked in the 18/19 order guides and can't find it there.
  11. No, but it does help if you make friends with the computer.
  12. Did you get a description when you got the code number?
  13. I believe the last year they included info in the OM was 2018. Different weights, but diffs always synthetic. Transfer case uses Dex VI ATF Front Axle – Four-Wheel Drive SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. 88900401, in Canada 89021678). Rear Axle (1500 Series) SAE 75W-85 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. 19300457, in Canada 19300458). Rear Axle (2500/3500 Series) SAE 75W-90 Synthetic Axle Lubricant (GM Part No. 88900401, in Canada 89021678). Transfer Case (Four-Wheel Drive) DEXRON-VI Automatic Transmission Fluid.
  14. Exhaust gets much hotter than normal when doing the regen of the DPF - might explain the periodically. 6.6' dmax it's common for smell when new -- and sometimes even visible smoke -- but typically both smoke and smell disappear over time. If it doesn't it may be due to an exhaust leak. Over the last 10 years there have been both bulletins and 'repair as needed updates' for leak concerns on both the LML (11 thru 16) and the L5P (17 and newer) .
  15. Whatever measure/adjustment method is selected, the verification is still how other vehicles respond. Frequently getting flashed on level roads means they are to high. A head-on because a blinded driver that drifts into your lane can make for a bad evening.
  16. Yes, you can factory order the DQS tow mirrors on a 2020 AT4. DQS requires the CWM technology package, which includes surround vision . Probably means the mirrors can be retrofit to an AT4 that has the CWM option. DQS NEW! Mirrors, outside power-adjustable vertical trailering with heated and auto-dimming upper glass, lower convex mirrors, turn signal indicators, puddle lamps, perimeter lighting, auxiliary lighting and memory; power folding/ manual extending CWM Technology Package, includes (UVS) HD Surround Vision, (DRZ) Rear Camera Mirror, (UVN) Bed View Camera and (UV6) Multicolour 15" Diagonal Head-Up Display Best way to know for sure is to see your favorite parts department with you vin and have them verify. Or swap with Ryan....
  17. Yes it is. That was my point. They recommend oil that is correct for spec and correct weight for the particular engine. 3 different jobs 3 different diesels. 3 different oil specs. 3 different oil weights.
  18. I find it interesting that - the 2.8L diesel in the canyon uses Dexos2 5W-30 the 3.0L diesel in the 1500's uses DexosD 0W-20 the 6.6L diesel in the 25/3500's uses CJ-4 or CK-4 15w-40
  19. Sounds like either the latch or the sensor is out of adjustment.
  20. Installing the wrong fuel tank seems like an unusual mistake to make. There is probably enough error-proofing in the assembly process to make it next to impossible. Shame on GM if there isn't. It would be simple to do. 'Range' calculation based on recent/current rate of fuel consumption and an estimate of amount sloshing around in the tank.. The steadier that rate of consumption, the more accurate the estimate.
  21. How many with brake issues have checked/replaced a battery? https://www.gm-trucks.com/is-your-silverado-or-sierra-acting-weird-in-the-cold-features-not-working-heres-the-fix/
  22. Correct. When you're at speed and in a panic and need max engine/trans grade braking but got too much going on to mess with the +/- button, just grab the shifter and pull it into the '1' position. If it's just pulled to Mx (range selection mode in GMspeak), the gear it shifts to depends on the gear that it is currently in -- there is are charts in the manual for each transmission. The gear that it shifts to will be displayed in the blank location between the M and the 1. The displayed number will be the max gear the transmission will use -- unless the +/- is used to change it, or until the shifter moved out of Mx postion.
  23. I wouldn't even consider changing it if you're only seeing 200F. 200 is dead nuts centre of the 'normal' range on the gauge. The trans fluid level check is a 2 step procedure. A cold check (between 80 and 90 F?), which is basically intended to make sure there is enough fluid in it to do the 'hot' check. If it passes tcold check, then --- Hot Check Procedure Use this procedure to check the transmission fluid level when the transmission fluid temperature is between 160 °F and 200 °F. The hot check is the most accurate method to check the fluid level. The hot check should be performed at the first opportunity in order to verify the cold check. The fluid level rises as fluid temperature increases, so it is important to ensure the transmission temperature is within range.
  24. Did you lock it and restart with the remote? or use and extra key in ignition so the doors could be locked? or leave it unlocked with key in it? I don't know how long they with a key in, but it sounds like maybe you need one with the PTO option. (doesn't look like it can be added to upper level trims) There is info about PTO and it's modes modes in the Duramax supplement. Quick look suggests it can be set up to run for something like 64 hours (DPF probably wouldn't permit that long .....) Does the truck have the High Idle (Fast Idle) option (UF3)? Anybody know if they will idle longer using the high idle option?
