  1. Android phones have always played music wirelessly using Bt too. But neither AA or CarPlay (and the associated apps) have been previously able to operate without cable.
  2. Did you have the pedal all the way to the floor? (WOT?) Holding the pedal to the floor and cranking is the method the OM outlines to clear a flooded engine.
  3. It's been that way with the big brother -- 5 yr, 100,000 mile / 160,000 km powertrain. Rest of truck same as the gasser.
  4. That's really interesting.... High frequency interference form the bulbs?
  5. Duramax regens are triggered based on any of dpf differential pressure (soot load), engine hours, fuel burned, miles driven. (there may be others) There is not give an indicator that regen is in process. Unusual smell is common for the first regen or first few regens is common. Regen's will be about once per tank, but of course that depends on vehicle usage. The continue driving message in the OM will only happen if it is unable to reduce the soot load after multiple attempts. There is a blurb about all this in the Diesel Particulate Filter section of the 3.0 Duramax Diesel Supplement to the owners manual. (it can be downloaded if you were shortchanged by the dealer OR prefer to also have a pdf copy)
  6. Feels like we are mixing 'transparent trailer' with 'rear auxiliary trailer camera'.
  7. Hang on... The 2020 owners manual CLEARLY show that the sierras with buckets have the spot in-between the cup holders and that with the bench and fold down, it is inside the fold-down.
  8. We still haven't heard from anyone that has a 3.0 with that fin in place. Seems like MIA is more likely, but it could be part of cooling system differences for that engine. Let us know what you learn!
  9. Some wall mounted opener controls have an extra button that can be used to prevent any remote opener from functioning. Ours, have an LED which is solid to indicate active and flashes to indicate 'locked'. I do wonder why the vehicles are wired so homelink is active when not keyed on, but for 'here' locking at the control pad is an acceptable solution.
  10. Is it an early build 2019? Can intellibeam be activated/deactivated using the method that the older vehicles used? I'm curious if the truck has the wrong stalk or it the change to the button was implemented as a running change. (
  11. You mean it has a CEL again? If so, it's still not a 'remote start' issue.
  12. Next time, try it in auto and tow/haul and see what you think...
  13. I'm the other way around. Without tow mirrors, I feel like something is missing. Especially pulling a trailer. Tow mirrors, give much better view to the side of truck and trailer, and (especially extended) behind an enclosed trailer. Except for the 2015 listed, all the others had tow mirrors. (long story, but I wanted the mirrors/max tow on it too -- there was a delay with start of production for max tow/6.2 combo, and I decided not to wait) First time I pulled with it, I knew the 'standard mirrors wouldn't do it for me. Of course opinions vary, and it depends on what the truck is used for.
  14. Let it sit on a flat spot overnight and then check the engine oil level too.
  15. There is both a 'normal mode grade braking' and a tow/haul mode grade braking'. Running in Range Selection Mode (M mode) disables the grade braking. There may be times when the computer managed grade braking are not desired. OM has slightly different explanations for the gas engine and diesel engine trucks.
  16. Too many variables to have a firm black/white answer. How long are the trips? How much (cool down) time between them? Does it also get used for longer runs? etc ...etc... Imho, everyone is overthinking this. All gas/diesel engines need to be warmed up to work most efficiently and to not have issues with condensation. OTOH, the number of vehicles that never get warmed up must be very low. Drive it and don't worry about it.
  17. Autostop doesn't work til the engine is warmed up. Therefore, not a factor with the cold start/short trip issue. OTOH, ecodiesel had so many problems they stopped selling them. Hopefully for the RAM fans a similar level of issues doesn't occur this time around.
  18. Because water is a byproduct of combustion, and water will condense out of the exhaust stream when the engine and exhaust or not hot enough. This is true for both gas and diesel engines. It's not the start and stop that causes the problem -- it's the cold running / not running long enough to get warmed up enough that the moisture can be carried out.
  19. Hopefully you've refused to pay them til the job is complete....
  20. Perhaps a software update that has resulted in some settings back to default?
  21. That isn't the payload sticker - that is the tire pressure sticker. The serial number of the truck is on the sticker. The pressures listed are for the tires that were installed on the truck. There will be a second sticker on the door post. It is also printed specific to the vehicle/serial number. Down near the bottom. Easy to miss. (other posts have pictures of the payload sticker) Similar to the tires pressure sticker, they know what options are installed by serial number and establish payload from those numbers. Any accessory added at dealer or by owner, that wasn't on the factory order, is considered 'payload'.
  22. Or the GMC app. All the same app, with different 'covers' If you have a chev and a gmc they can both be operated with either cover on the app.
  23. Torque at low rpm is a wonderful thing. Thought it might have been closer...
  24. https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/dmv/detail/pubs/reg_hdbk/appendix/appendix1f_fees So I'm not 'knowledgeable' about Cali DMV rules, but, I had a quick look at their site, and the above page, at section .0190 Weight Fees for Commercial Vehicles With a Declared Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) of 10,000 Pounds or Less (Effective 01/01/2002) (CVC §9400) Any chance you are mixing GVWR and GWR? GVWR is the amount the vehicle and load can weight. GVR is just the weight of the vehicle (and GCWR is weight of truck+trailer+loads) A quick look suggests to may that the fees just depend on what the GVR of the truck (ie what it actually weighs, before loads are added) rather than the GVWR which is what it is rated to weigh when loaded. I'm assuming you don't pull a trailer, so the 26,000 pound commercial requirement isn't an issue. (or if you do, the trailer is small enough the the GCWR (rating for when truck and trailer are both at maximum load) (Maybe I missed something in your explanation , or meed to spend more time at the DMV site)
