Apparently, you've 'heard' a lot of stuff wrong. There is a lot of 'misunderstanding' about how regeneration works. Was really hoping this thread would stick to experiences driving/owning the 3.0, not whether diesels are a good idea or not.

Trailer brake control was an available factory option on all trim levels of the 2019 new style 1500. (and std on LTZ and HC). Perhaps it can be retrofitted to any trim of the new style.

What kind of fuel mileage does it get? sounds like way more def than the 6.6 GM's are usng. GM 6.6's def usage is about 1.5 or 2% of fuel.

I would argue that the bulk def from a busy truckstop pump is probably fresher than jugs. (if you are saying don't by jugs that are stacked by a fuel pump, then I'd agree)

Sometimes the seat position you think should be good isn't the one that makes the back feel happy. Experiment a little. If the truck is empty all the time, and you're running the pressures on the door sticker, try reducing them. Especially the rears. If it's got 20's on it, find a set of 18's. Higher sidewalls aren't as stiff as the short ones.

There was nothing but bitching about the driveability of the last version of AFM. Thread after thread about how to work with it or defeat it. I'm also in the camp that thinks that not being able to tell it is active is excellent news. It was probably likely one of the design/development targets. Did I read there are 18 modes it can operate in?

Get another set of sensors installed in your winter wheels. Only takes about a minute walk the teach tool around the truck and 'train' the sensors to the truck at wheel change time.

Carry weight was the difference I remember from when I got mine. I don't walk on it or carry stuff on it. I was a little concerned about what the aluminum version would look light if it got scratched. For my use, didn't think paying 50% more made sense. I do like the appearance of the wider slats on the aluminium version.

Don't forget the seat can be adjusted up and down....

I like that they can be locked part way open if needed, and that the tailgate can be closed without lifting the top first. Especially on a tall truck, it is easier to 'walk' the cover open from the ground than it was to flip open the sections of the flip open style I used before. When carrying something that requires the cover to be open, it does not block the view through the rear window. Downside is that the rolled up cover takes some space inside the bed and prevents tall items from being pushed against front wall of bed.

CEL causes remote start not to function on previous generations as well.

2020 2500's are higher than the 'lifted' 1500's. According to gm, 2020 Lifted 1500 crew (Trailboss and AT4) = 78.23" high 2020 2500 crew std box = 79.82" high AT4 2500 is not 'lifted'

Adaptive cruise has been available on 1500 suv for several years (18 and 19 at least) Adaptive cruise arrives on the 1500's for 2020 (2nd year of updated truck) KSG NEW! Adaptive Cruise Control - Camera 1 - Included and only available with (PDJ) Driver Alert Package II. Available on SLT, AT4 and Denali Perhaps HD pickups will get it on 2021 model.

Yes the variable elements are vanes. Not the best choice of description on my part.

The 'exhaust brake' on the HD's is the variable gate/nozzle on the turbo. Not the same as a Jake on a class 8. Fwiw, on the 2020's, it sound like the truck can be programmed for several trailers, and the exhaust brake on/off setting will be maintained after shutdown - depending on the settings for the connected trailer. Of course, we will know better when a few of them get into customer hands.

Not sure if this is what you mean, but it doesn't give a beep for step one, which is press and release the 'set' button. Beep (should) happen in next step which is holding the '1'. '2' or 'exit' ...whichever is being changed. Are you pressing the 'set' button first? Pushing the set button tells it you want to change the programming, rather than have it move to the memorized location. The 'beep' after holding the second button tells you the current locations have be saved.
