  1. Grab a set of truck nuts while you're at it. It'll complete the ensemble.
  2. That's interesting. I wonder why there's been no mention of this? GM was up front with the 87 requirement from the outset. Why build a big bruiser push rod for an HD application that recommends a higher grade fuel? For my money, I'd go with a F350 6.2/10-speed anyway.
  3. Not ragging on your choice, either. The 6.6 is a nice upgrade over the 6.0's I'm used to driving and I'm still fine driving mine today. In the end, it needs to be reliable before winning a race.
  4. The 10-speed is a must for the 6.6 to be performance competitive. I expect the Ram 6.4 8-speed to beat the 6.6, not as dominant as the 7.3, but the extra gears on the gas engines make them work better. It is what it is. The fact that the 7.3 is achieving 15mpg in real testing makes it the one to beat although it is an extra cost option. I'd like to see the F350 6.2 10-speed compared to the the 6.6. I bet it beats it. I don't tow 16K up the Ike but it's a pure torture test that exposes strength and weakness. I'm sure the added gears are not far off from GM but this was a sound thumping.
  5. At the price point and with the competition offering it it should be there. The adaptive part can be shut off and used as normal cruise. It's inexcusable not having it available on a $80K truck.
  6. I got hooked on reading through this entire thread and the fact that the problem has carried over into some 2020's makes me thing twice about dropping money on one of these new gen trucks in a year or two. No matter how much they test this stuff still happens. Leaky window is never acceptable no matter the price point of a vehicle.
  7. If they're able to add 1mpg to this truck with such noticeable size, power and capability increases they've done a phenomenal job in my book. The stats on the new 2500 make my 2016 look like a toy.
  8. Just for reference, the K2's do have an issue with a rattle or click you experienced. There's a metal plate with 4 screws behind the hood latch and they have a tendency to come loose and cause a sound like you describe. It's easy to fix and lock tight solves it for good.
  9. I've said it before but they're doing everything in their power to make sure to send their loyal customers to the competition for a good look. The heated rear seats and vents have been standard fare on the competition for years. Imagine paying almost $90K for a 2020 Denali HD and with no adjustable pedals. Who are the yes men approving this strategy?
  10. They really should keep it as complimentary service. Nobody should have to mess around with an arbitrary point system to get the service, either. GM is their own worst enemy.
  11. They're using the current but modified 6-speed for the 2020 6.6 gas but I think it's safe to assume it'll go 10-speed for 2021. The 10-speed makes gas engines much more attractive.
  12. I get that it's a first model year but these trucks should not be let out of the factory like this. It really is inexcusable. Hard to enjoy your new truck when you have a major defect right out of the hole.
  13. I bet the 2.7 will be no less long term reliable than the MDS V8's are.
  14. Added payload doesn't explain why their main competition has a smaller and larger option. Small tank standard, large tank optional. It's not like having more fuel on board is a radical idea. This is GM simplifying the build process by limiting options. They're saving manufacturing costs and nothing more.
  15. I've never driven one and probably never will but the power curve is impressive. I don't get the hate for it. They aren't marketing it as a V8 replacement and TFL showed it performed really well under hard use. For light use and around town it seems like a very good option.
  16. The 2.7 is not for me but TFL had really good results in their loop at altitude. Real world reports of 2019 GM performance and mpg in general have been good overall. GM's problem is that the roll out and packaging of these new pickups is too dull and incomplete. Why not a 6.2/10-speed in a LT or RST? Why not have a couple more interior color combinations? I think their lack of doing anything exciting with this roll out helps diminish any type of of buzz the 2.7 probably deserves.
  17. I've never seen the split seat as a place for somebody to sit. There's just some positives to having a place for my tall right leg to comfortably flop over to lol
  18. I prefer buckets with console but can totally understand why someone likes having the 'flow through' seat. I could also easily live with the split bench if forced in to one.
  19. I prefer a column shift and always will. I can deal with a console shift but I'm not big on the dial. I don't think a dial shift alone would prevent me from buying a Dodge but it's not something I'd consider a plus.
  20. All Chevy/GMC 1500, 2500 and 3500's are column shift. The Canyon/Colorado have console shifters, though. EDIT: Should also add all Tahoe/Yukon/Escalade are column shift, too.
  21. There isn't a lot of empirical data yet but pickuptrucks.com did a shootout with 2019 crewcab 4x4's and the 6.2/3.23 in both the GMC/Chevy and beat the Ecoboost with a 3.55 and destroyed the Ram with the 5.7/3.92. Everybody likes cherry picking but this was a shootout with a pro driver doing several runs with each truck to get the best times, same time, same track in the same place. I don't know how much faster some of these guys want the trucks to be. Crewcab 4x4's are doing 0-60's in the sub 6.5 second mark and getting 20MPG on the highway. Some people will never be satisfied. As much as I like TFL (for the most part) they do put out a lot of click bait drag racing videos without real data behind them. So far, the PUT.com shootout is the only full data shootout I've found but many more should start showing up soon.
  22. I remember my dads 81' F150 leaking from the quarter window and watching it trickle down the door onto the rubber floor and not effecting anything. These new trucks are disasters waiting to happen in so many ways.
  23. I would want my vehicle replaced if I found out it was leaking. Knowing that the interior got soaked would ruin my ownership experience.
  24. This is the first time in awhile that I've prefered the look of a Chevy over a GMC. Outside of the AT4 the 2019 GMC's haven't done much for me. It will be nice to see a volume of GMC models and colors now that the Chevy cat is out of the bag. The black Trailboss is probably my favorite looking pickup right now with the High Country in any color a close 2nd or 3rd.
