  1. Headed to the dealership to pick up the parts for auxiliary switches. I don't know that guy, but he sounds like a a-hole. [emoji1787][emoji1787][emoji1787] For clarity, I have a Trail Boss. I can give part numbers for black lug nuts, but not GMC center caps. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  2. Not if the speed limit is 80 mph, lol. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  3. Anything can be fixed with the right knowledge, tools, and enough money. It's the money part that GM is focused on. Therefore, the question becomes, "How much do you want to spend?" Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk

  5. Here's the only pic I currently have. This was as the sun was getting low in early August, but still out. You can't see it lit during the daytime. It's also not bright during the evening. For an idea about how looks in the daylight, you can't see the light. The clear plastic around the black bowtie looks just like your turn signal lens in the front grille. Just had a moment to step outside and take a pic for you. Here's a nighttime pic. The camera makes the bowtie look brighter than it actually is. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  6. Iirc, down it's rated for 500 lbs. Not sure about up. I can't recall where I got that number, so take it for what it's worth. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  7. I've done all of this, too. I love it! I went with the light up bowtie though. However, I didn't Souray my exhaust cutouts. I used the OE ones for the midnight edition trucks. It's more expensive, but removes any illegitimate claim GM could make to void warranty. Only chrome you'll find on my truck now is the button in the door handle, bowtie in wheel caps, and the trim on the interior. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  8. Imo, GM could've simplified all of this by making the midnight edition available on all colors of trucks. If you're going dark, then the exhaust cutouts should be black, too. It's that way on midnight edition trucks. Might as well add black lug nuts and the black Z71 badge from the 2021 2500HD Carhartt Edition trucks. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  9. Bump No interest? These will find their way into the garbage if nobody wants them. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  10. All of which is very unfriendly to active duty military due to their frequency of moves. How do you get a car inspected annually when you're in Japan and the car is sitting in a storage lot in the US? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  11. I don't know what part of Jersey you're in, but I found has to be more expensive there. I lived in just north of Philly in Bucks County from 2015-2017. There's also a few gas stations in Philly and the northern suburbs where they won't let you pump your own gas. They're also more expensive than the competitor across the street that let's you pump your own gas by about $0.10/gallon. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  12. Free? No. Open during COVID? No. What you're referring to is called a Hobby Shop. I've spent many hours in some. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  13. Or, they sign a 101 page lease that includes clause such as no working on vehicles and no washing vehicles. Gotta love the military and their rules. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  14. Um, I did say, "Don't respond to that". I think I can hear the ban hammer coming already. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  15. This is really stupid. Pfizer's vaccine must be used within 5 days after coming out of cold storage. Throwing them away after 1 hour is really stupid, and a giant waste of taxpayer money. Is New York trying to compete with California for wasting the most taxpayer money? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  16. Hopefully this is a better link. Btw, I noticed your truck is not a T1xx in the first post of your thread. Do you think it'll be worth for the new trucks to upgrade? I thought the T1s came with high def reverse cameras. I'm not asking for myself. I don't see a need to do this upgrade, but other people may benefit. https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/246660-backup-camera-replacement/
  17. Ever received road head? Apparently GM thinks the girl needs help since people who drive trucks have tiny Ds. Don't respond to that. I'm probably going to get into trouble with the moderators for posting this. Seriously though, I've found it useful when trying to read a paper or something else that doesn't have a light up screen. I mean, who needs a light in their face? GM did use the dimmest 5000 Kelvin rated led lamp they could find for that location, though. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  18. Will it pop the fuse in the car? Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  19. So, after today I do have to question this situation, even though I posted a similar story earlier about how I can see it happening because it happened to me. I took my car to the wash today. It's one of those do it yourself places with the brush and high pressure sprayer. I decided to clean under the hood this time since it was dirty from 9,000 miles of driving. I did the engine degreaser, high pressure spray, low pressure spot free rinse, etc. I have the GM Performance intake. You betcha a ton of water went down that tube before the radiator. After I finished washing my truck I got into it and it fired right up. I drove it out of the bay with no difficulty at all. I drove her home, which included surface and interstate driving, and going up and down hills. When I got home I backed her into the driveway. Since then I took my son to the batting cages, took him to dinner, went home, realized my wife didn't feed our 2 kids and it was already 8pm so I got back into the truck, went and got food, and drove it back home. Several engine cycles, and no issues with water in the engine. Based on post #1, either the water was 4 feet high, or something else happened to the engine. I wonder if we're looking at a broken valve spring that resulted in engine failure? What's the build date on the truck? Truck was built in March, so I don't think that's the issue. Does it rain hard enough to get 4 feet of water in a parking lot in Los Angeles? I doubt it. It's not Norfolk, VA. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  20. Because your kit is for a keyed ignition. Mine is for a push start ignition. I need 84942073. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  21. I tried ordering from GM Parts Direct. They canceled my order due to the backorder status of the kit. Either they lied to me, or your info is outdated. My second online order that was canceled was GM Parts Online. My third canceled order was Tasco in Rhode Island. The info I've been posting is the most current and up to date info available at this time. I'm now using a dealership in San Diego, CA. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  22. Only for the oil they need to service the vehicles they sell. If they get another make where they don't have the oil in stock they'll have cases they need to crack open. Sent from my SM-N960U using Tapatalk
  23. I'm in San Diego. My dealer has a special where you pay $100 for 3 oil changes. They know they're losing money on it. In the retail industry this is called a "loss leader". They do this because they believe they'll make up the difference with something else needed. For example, the multi-point inspection will probably find something else that'll cause the customer to fork out a few more dollars and make the dealer a profit. Unfortunately for my dealer, they know I'll perform my own work in something that's out of warranty. If it's in warranty I'll let them repair it because GM is paying the bill. 24. Just got another call from my dealer parts guy. They found a dealership in the US with kit number 84942073. They reached out to that dealer and that dealer refused to sell the part. Bad news for me may be good news for you if you're in the DFW area. Classic Chevrolet is the dealership with the only available kit in the country for trucks with the black interior and push button start. In the meantime, I've asked my dealer to get all the parts that come in the kit. He believes there should be no trouble getting them since they show Special Order instead of Backorder. The parts are spread out between 3 GM warehouses: Lansing, MI; Reno, NV; and Los Angeles, CA. He was even willing to beat the online prices from GM Parts Online and GM Parts Direct when you factor in the added cost of shipping from those online stores. I'm looking at about $260 + tax.
