  1. Guess you could always heat the ECM and drive the moisture out of it. Wonder if the PO had opened the case and ruined the seal. Or do as suggested and purchase a replacement
  2. Is the rubber gasket in place and intact at the PCM connector? You never drive through a puddle of water anywhere at all?
  3. Sounds like bad blend actuators
  4. As the title says..... Post your "discoveries" about your truck that you didn't know about until you stumbled across them. Also post any helpful tips for the various features on these truck. Everyone wants to get the most enjoyment out of them. So let's help everyone out. Keep on topic or it will be deleted. Discussion about features is ok. But try not to go far afield. We will edit some posts if necessary. Try to be concise. Post pics if needed. I'll post this as a sticky at the top of the section. We'll see what kind of traction it gets. It may not go anywhere and not be needed after all. But it was requested by a member so we'll have a shot at it. if not much happens then it will be unpinned from the top and mix in with the rest of the threads. Suggestions for a better title will be entertained. Send PM
  5. WARRANTY. See the dealer
  6. From the factory it doesn't really have "cap" like most would think. The "cap" is made as part of the injection molded intake. It can be broken off to open the port if necessary. If you can plug it and your leak goes away you've found your issue
  7. It should be capped. It is it is unmetered airflow the ECM cannot take read, thus it is a vacuum leak
  8. Sounds like a wring issue from the new radio. Lots of installs tap wrong wires or screw grounds
  9. You can rent an engine stand. Or borrow, even buy one pretty cheap. Once on the stand you can rotate the engine as necessary
  10. RENT a hoist if needed, not buy. Do you live in the southern hemisphere since you keep saying winter is coming? Winter has has been here where I live
  11. He replaced the screen when he replaced the OPS. Post #1

  14. Add dye to the coolant and find leak with a black light
  15. I would use the severe schedule no matter what.
  16. You should have been shown the tire. Is true that often defects are easier to spot once the tire has no air in it. not always
  17. After you pull the bed, wouldn't be surprised that you find a cracked line up there or maybe even rust causing a leak
  18. Just putting this out for you or others that may come across this thread to help understand the system http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/104569-the-evap-system/
  19. I've got one too. 64
  20. 460 hours is not bad. 18 mph average. Gotta remember these things are idling more thanks to remote start and people wanting their vehicle warm or cold before they get in it. Isn't like 20 minutes you can get out of remote start? Times at least twice per day maybe........ times how many days per week Quit having a heart attack
  21. It's an issue with where the pictures were originally hosted and then linked to
  22. Please post about this recall in this thread. This topic is pinned to the top. The original thread is given below. No need for multiple topics on this By John Goreham Link to original post in the Newsroom section John Goreham Contributing Writer, GM-Trucks.com 8-7-2017 Back when electronic, or electric, steering replaced hydraulic assist, many drivers worried that if the electric motor that adds the power steering input was suddenly disabled the vehicle would lose control. Manufacturers poo-pood safety concerns, calling the new systems "fail-safe." Today, GM has announced a huge recall of about three-quarters of a million 2014 model year Silverado and SIerra pickups because the electronic steering may fail and the driver may lose steering control, possibly leading to a crash. - Background on GM electric power steering here. The NHTSA recall website explains the problem, saying, "The vehicles may have a temporary loss of electric power steering (EPS) assist, especially during low-speed turning maneuvers." The result is explained as well, as, "If EPS assist is lost and then returns, the driver might lose temporary control of the steering wheel, increasing the risk of a crash." GM will follow the law and notify all owners of the problem by snail mail. However, like all manufacturers, GM has a recall lookup website. You can access it here. The plan is for GM dealers to simply update software. There is no mechanical problem according to the information provided. - Please, check out one of members' excellent background story on this topic in the comments below. Thanks 97 Sierra SLT!
