  1. He has his own dedicated thread here: https://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/topic/223231-4l80e-getting-stuck-in-first-gear/?tab=comments#comment-2245968
  2. No worries. Shavings are from cam/lifters that's being fixed. As stated above, the oil filter will catch the debris or it will leave the pan during oil change. Put a magnet on the filter or pan if you're worried. Do a couple of quick oil/filter changes maybe to settle your mind. You should have seen all the shavings in the early oil changes after you bought it, it was hardly pristine, they never are I would have no worries. I've had cams/lifters fail over the years, never thought about trashing a block over it
  3. I would think there is a larger aftermarket radiator out there somewhere.
  4. Just a note, [email protected] no longer provides this info when you contact them. Several people have reported back after being denied. If you're interested in a build sheet for your vehicle: Contact your local dealer with your VIN and request one. This should include a bit more info than just RPO info Try emailing [email protected] . Request a decode from them
  5. Stay on topic. A few members need to leave each other alone. Ignoring someone is a great thing to do sometimes
  6. Yep. Clean 'em up and lubricate the slide pins
  7. ***moved to correct section***** Always post description the vehicle you're talking about. Will save everyone's time
  8. You can get eyes on the OP sensor, it takes some work and plenty of light. Look for a few Ytube videos showing replacement. Check cover gaskets Oil Pressure sensor Crank sensor
  9. Agreed. Look at cover gasket. Also there is a crankshaft sensor that is above/behind the starter that some leaks have been attributed to
  10. Check and clean ground connections (there are are several). Check Battery cables, not only at connection points, but also internally. They can and do fail. Have battery load tested first. May only be a year old but can still be having issues
  11. It would make it much less of a hassle
  12. Try looking in Youtube Example: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d1ilo-Qv4io https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=opening+silverado+headlights
  13. I believe you'll find this to be common to these trucks. Trans have thermostat that aren't going to let them go below about 190 anyway. Plenty have posted about this issue. Definitely warmer than I'd like. GM wants these to run warmer You can bypass the internal thermostat. Info is posted on this site You can add a larger external cooler, but again without the thermo mod you''ll for sure be limited to 190 But 190 is fine You have synthetic fluid in the trans which holds up better to the heat, but personally I'd like it lower We've modded all our rigs to run cooler, and they stay about 180
  14. Start with intake leaks, including manifold gaskets
  15. ^^^^This. Explained in the OM. Battery condition is best diagnosed through load testing
  16. Wonder what the hinge piece looks like on other's trucks that are not having any problems
  17. Guess you could always heat the ECM and drive the moisture out of it. Wonder if the PO had opened the case and ruined the seal. Or do as suggested and purchase a replacement
