Super Dissapointed

I have had my crew cab gmc 5.3 z71 4x4 truck for a year and a half, and when my lease is up i wont be getting another gm product

First off, what is the sheet metal made of? tin? its so damn thin and dents super easy.

The cloth interior is a joke, wears out super fast and everything sticks to it, lint, animal hair, its never clean! As for the leather, everyone i know who has it, it wears out faster than anything. Most have under 100,000 km and the drive seat is all creased and cracked. A friend of mine has two fords and i understand the seats are harder compared to gms but they still look almost new. And this crew cab is small, damn small, im 6'1" and i sit in the back and my knees are hitting the front seats, what kind a crew cab is that? And the seats folt up to give you all this room, i bought a 50 inch tv and the box would fit in no problem, but wrong, the doors get in the way, they dont open far enough to get anything big in.

the motor is a f'n dog, its suppose to have 315hp? well it feels like 200.......the torque management is a damn joke. A jeep liberty raced me the other weekend and we were neck and neck until 30 then i barley pulled away. My 98 gmc stock with 265hp was way faster, hell my 97 4.3 short box reg cab standard would blow them both away.

The tracktion control never fully turns off, even when off it will kick in at times. I find with all this hesitation you need the stability track, you will be going around a corner fast and if its slick the torque managment and track control will hold it back then when your going fast enough it will let loose and almost spin you around and put you in the ditch if it wasnt for the stability track.

I drove a friends nissan titan, its a dream. It has instant power, it hauls. Plain and simple its just a very fun truck to drive, everything i thought my new 315 hp truck was suppose to be. My next truck will either be a titan or a tundra, the tundra sounds like its powerful and hopfully not all electronically retarded as the gm's.

Now i dont always drive this hard, but sometimes you just want to drive your truck hard and you expect a big motor v8 rear wheel drive truck should be fun, but the new gm's are not. even if i was to get the new 6 speed or a 6L or 6.2 L all the other problems with the truck have pushed me away and they still would have all the electronics holding them back.

Oh, was at the drag strip last night. There was a couple new 2010 camaros out there, they ran in the 14s..... could barley squeel the tires off the line. my wife has a rx8, with around 200 hp and its a 1.3L and there was a couple there running in the 14s. 6.2L vs 1.3L WEAK.

I am not a fan of leather but I must ask were they taking care of it (using any kind of cleaner). I know people who use the poorboys leather treatment and it is as soft and looks as good as new (doing monthly treatments)

I must say my 2008 5.3 in my Tahoe is much quicker than my 2000. We will see how it compares to the 6.2 sometime in the future.

I might be missing something but I m not sure what truck you have. Not tuned I suppose? You are right about the cloth seats and the thin metal which everyone is doing for fuel mileage. Some of your complaints are valid but wait till you see the downsides of other manufactures. Ever drive the new Ford. I can walk faster. Nissian s had cam issues and loose bed issues that I know of and i don t even follow them closely.

By the way, the stock 6.2/6sp combo is currently the quickest factory truck in the 1/4.

A $200 tune would fix that feeling you are having with the TM and nannies. GM put them there so they could warranty your truck for 100,000miles with guys like you driving them.

You can turn the traction control off, but to fully do it you have to turn stabilitrac off, it's part of the TC system. You have to push and hold the button longer with it in park to turn both off.

Yeah, the cloth seats suck. They have a TSB for them. My leather is 2 years old and has almost 34,000 miles and looks as good as day one.

Well I had a 2004 Ford F150 which, although it was a fine truck that I loved to drive, I believe that overall it pales in comparison to my 09 Silverado. Most importantly, my Silverado 5.3 is much faster and more responsive than my 5.4 Ford.

The leather seats on my F150 were paper thin and had tears in the driver's side almost from day one, despite my generous application of Maguiar's. It was all the more offensive because "leather" seats weren't really leather seats! They had imported Corinthian leather STRIPS in the middle panel of the seat, but that is it. The rest of the seat was vinyl made to look like leather. I found that irritating and misleading.

In addition, the It's hard to see how anyone can realistically compare the body integrity of a GM to that of a Nissan or Toyota.

Don't let the door hit ya where the good Lord split ya. (or the cheesy Tundra tailgate either :uhoh: ).

If you think the GM's are built any cheaper than the other mfrs, you are in for a rude awakening. Good luck in your Nissan/Turdra. :D

you sir, are an idiot. if the thin body is that much of an issue, have fun buying a vehicle 10 years old because no one makes them like they used to. cloth seats are a problem i dont think anyone will disagree. if you can wear through the leather that fast then you are careless and should be driving a beater so you wont ruin a nice vehicle.

as for the tv not fitting inside. you bought a truck not a suburban, trucks have beds. occasionally people haul large objects in them. try it sometime. not only is the titan cab smaller than the silverado but so is the bed. good luck with that.

a tune will take care of you torque management. my truck has plenty of get-up to it. if nothing else you bought a truck not a porsche. if you hold the button for a little longer it will shut everything off for good. and the traction control kicks in when you lose traction, and will remain on until traction is gained. so your statement about losing traction around a corner is invalid.

why would the driver of the camero want to smoke his tires off the line? that would slow him down. you have fun peeling out. ill be looking for you in my rear view mirror from the finish line. nissan titans are decent. a few of my friends have them. i wouldnt trade them though. have fun with the tundras that rust through in a year.

It is unfortunate that you are displeased with your truck. Doesn't matter what brand it is: if you're unhappy...you're unhappy. Good luck in shopping for your Titan/Tundra. Objectively I believe that the quality just isn't there with the asian trucks. They look and feel cool...but it's the quality and robustness of all the hardware you don't see that seems to be lacking. Best wishes.

Those 14 second Camaros were most likely the direct injected v-6's you tool. Oh, and stock RX-8's are dogs. Piss off!!!
