Wheel Color?

Before I mount tires on my take-off Sierra wheels, I was wondering what they'd look like painted on my red truck.

Whatcha think? It's a lot of work and I'm inclined to not do it just based on the work. But if it really would look good, I might do it.

I would leave them alone. I do however think that they would look good powdercoated in a gloss black.

These stock really aren't that bad looking. Kinda remind me of the old "IROC" wheels.

Okay, alright already. No red. You guys say what you think. Pretty hard on a guy. I almost went for chroming them. LA Wheels has an add on ebay with these chromed. They look pretty good, but they're $7xx for the chroming service. So that's out. I think I'll just leave em as is. A dark gray metallic would look pretty good but the work to do it is too much. I will clean/etch the bare backsides of these and clearcoat them to protect them.

Thanks a bunch.

What size make and size tires are ya going to run? I've got the same wheels on my 08 and the Goodyears are about gone. Want those Bilstein 5100's too. You still liking yours?

Thanks.

Russ,

I'm lovin the 5100's. I'm gonna get the rears. Just a matter of time. I'm spending money like water right now, and just can't buy it all at the same time. (dang, I saw a nice early .410 straight gripped Citori, very very clean, at the range for $1100 today. passed because of my out of control spending...and SD pheasant hunt upcoming)

On the tires, unless someone convinces me otherwise, I'm going with Toyo Open Country A/Ts. Nice street friendly tread that should be quiet and still have a little off-road traction for my rare old-man like uses. 285-70/17 is the size I'm going with.

Thanks for the info Chuck. The GMC wheels are the best looking by far. Plan on running the same tire size.

By early, do ya mean "Belgian"??? I'm a Beretta fan. We hit Kansas every year for the pheasants.

What height do ya have your Bils set at? After reading stuff on hear, I'm afraid to go more than 1.5" and was

wandering if that would clear the 285's w/o any trimming.
