Spray-in Liners - Over Or Under Rail

Recommended Posts

So I've decided that if I want a liner, it'll be a spray-on. Rhino and Line-X are the two big names in town with Rhino being about $50 cheaper. As far as I can tell, and also according to the Rhino tech, the products are virtually identical, except that the Line-X texture is slightly rougher. Line-X is definitely the bigger guy locally, so they'll likley be the way I go.

But I do have one question for those of you with these liners...

Over-rail, or under-rail???

Over-rail is slightly more money, but I'm thinking it might be nice - since I do not have bed rails at this time. At the same time I'm thinking of the looks (white truck). Will the over-rail be a distraction?

Let me know what you all think. Thanks.

I'm doing under the rail and then getting the GM bed rails because I like the look of them better than the spray in...

I got Under the rail and then bought the GM Rail Protectors, they are really nice and match the tailgate one that is already on the car! Plus installs in like 10 sec!

Over the rails! the rail protectors i had on my 2001 were all beat up and looked cheap after some time. I got the Line-X X-Tra over the rails and it looks great and stands up to just about anything you throw at it.

Usually its put on right at the end of the flat surface but you could ask them to go a lil bit lower so that it covers the entire bend on the top of your bed.

They'll stop where ever you tell 'em to. I didn't want it to show under my camper shell so I stayed back on the flat. And on the rail they put it on a little thin so it wouldn't hold the camper shell up.

I got my Rhino under the rail. Looks alot better to me. But I would think it depends on what you haul around and if it will scratch and dent the top of those rails.

I went over the rail, doesn't look as cheap as bed rail protectors.

+1. Over the rail.

Yep Over!! I had to come down a long way after the previous bed caps were removed!!! Either that a repaint both fenders!

I think they look way better than the plastic stick on type!!
