Does Eng Lt Clr Itself? Code P0332

Good day to all:

Had an earlier post about the fpr and this code. Was going to have the FP checked this morning and when I went out to the truck the Eng Lt did not come on. I did pull the cover off the top of the manifold to find the FPR yesterday (and soon found out that there isn't one) I fiddled with a few cannon plugs but that was it. Two days ago I put about ten bucks worth of fuel in. I would assume that if it was a knock sensor the lt would stay on. I made a few stops shutting down the truck each time with no Lt. Light does come on during start up so I know the bulb is good. When the Light first came on about two weeks ago the first thing I checked was the fuel cap and it was good.. I am going to have a scan tool check for codes again and the truck seems to be running fine. But this puzzles me? 05 1500hd 6.0 crew 54k Thanks Ken

If they are hard codes, meaning it keeps pulling the same issue for cycles it testing the system, it will throw a code and keep the light on. If the issue is fixed and the computer detects the issue is gone after so many cycle checks, it will stay off. A hard code stays in the computer for history checks. If you use a scan tool it will pick it up as an old code but not a current one. The MIL light does not go on or off for a specific time, its when ever the computer needs to throw or clear a code. My cavalier did the same thing for a manifold code, but took all day to clear when it really wasnt an issue. Starting and stopping the engine wont help, you just need to give it time. If it was on and went out, you are fine.
