jtupper Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 Imagine being a stoplight bandit in this thing. Turbo Silverado How in the hell does he keep those little tires from burning the rubber clean off with that light ass end?
Green_Monster Posted October 13, 2009 Author Posted October 13, 2009 I am pretty sure he is launching in 4wd. So I don't know why he does a burnout. Probably cause it's fun.
s_n_a_f_u Posted October 13, 2009 Posted October 13, 2009 the diesels do that they launch in 4-wheel drive and it automaticly switches out after 1st gear Be pretty sweet though lol
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 That G-80 is not going to last very long lol
SeirraRR Posted October 14, 2009 Posted October 14, 2009 That looks like alo of fun. Gotta love drag racing.
Nytemare Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 That G-80 is not going to last very long lol My buddy has an avalanche (2wd)...with the STS kit...a reworked 4l60E that keeps blowing up (he doesn't want to do the body lift for a 4l80e) and a (now) 5.6L with Alkyinj...etc, etc, etc...outside its completely stock. its been dynoed at somewhere in the 800's for hp...but we dont care about hp...it just sells cars....torque gets you going and 870ft-lbs at the wheels, with fuel cutting out at 4400rpm's due to too small of injectors at the time (it revs to 7200 now with no fuel cutting). He still has the 10-bolt with the G80 and has run this for 3 years now...and remember that the Avalanche has a 5-link rear...so it hooks up better than a pickup causing more stress inside. And he runs slicks on race days. He runs in the 10's and had a personal track best of 9.87 before he got banned cause it doesn't have a rollcage. It does 0-60 in 2.8s 60-120 in 1.8s

Nytemare Posted October 15, 2009 Posted October 15, 2009 Sorry man...I don't....but it looks like a stock Orange Avalanche....that's the best part. I am going to drop the STS in my truck as soon as I get the time....being in the military, time is something I have very little of. Its not gonna be near this big and bad though...I am looking for 500 WHP.

I was wondering why he does the burnout and then uses 4wd too. Seems to bark the turbo alot when doing the burnout.......can't be good for it??
ColoradoSkiCountry Posted October 16, 2009 Posted October 16, 2009 Was that the Turbo barking? I thought it was the rear diff.

I hope so.....I would love to actually be home to get it done though. Been home 2 months this year, next year is not looking any better. I'm telling you my Wife is a saint to put up with this. I absolutely love these STS kits....makes so much sense to put the turbo out back...keeps so much heat out from under the hood. and there are plenty of upgrades for them also...I can't wait to start playing.
