Has anyone driven a sierra/silverado with the 6.2L? i currently have a 08 slt with the 5.3 and i just ordered a 2010 with the 6.2L non denali however the dealership only had denali's for me to test drive. Does anyone own one of these? let me know what you think of it power wise and fuel economy. Thanks

I would love to have one... Selectable 4x4, 9.5" rear end and 3.73 gears. Awesome machine, I'm sure you'll love it.

Mileage wise, you should achieve 15-21mpg depending on location and how hard you drive.

Good luck and make sure you post photos.

Welcome to the site. I would love to have that engine in my truck. Let us know how it is when you get it.

Thanks for the quick replys i have been a browser here for a while.. but couldnt find a thread with any information about this so i decided to post. I liked the look of the denalis but the awd is not practical for me as i use my truck for industrial construction. anyways my truck ordered is 2010 crew cab slt, summit white/ebony interior. 6.2L, Nav, snrf, tailgate package, skid plates, block heater and 20's will post pictures when it arives hopefully it doesnt take to long dealer says 8 weeks.

That's the way I'd want it too (for towing), but I think the non-NHT model comes with a 3.42 rear.

I have a 6.0L NHT. I highly doubt 15-21 mpg is realistic. I'm guessing 12 city, 14-16 highway depending on how fast you drive.

With my 3" body lift, heavy 33's, AWD and 6.2L im getting 13-14 city (depending on how often i hit the gas hard) and 15-16 on the highway.

Before I put on the body lift and tires I took a few long highway trips up north and got 18... and i didn't baby it. If i dropped my speed down to 65-70 instead of 75ish and took it a little easier accelerating im sure i could've gotten better.

With regard to economy, I would think that the 6-spd helps more-so w/ the larger engines. They have the torque to run highway speeds at low rpm, whereas the 5.3 will need to downshift on occasion. Just a guess though...

as well as the super low gearing from a stop, it helps get up to speed without needing to dump fuel into the engine

I have an '08 Yukon Denali 2WD and I love it. I'm averaging almost 16mpg in mixed driving and I'm not exactly a slow driver. It sounds good, great torque and decent high end power. Six-speed is nice too, but it's a bit rough in certain throttle/shift situations which I wish GM would smooth out a bit.

You'll be very happy with it and surprised at the fuel economy. It doesn't take any throttle to speak of to maintain speed, so that helps quite a bit with mileage considering the weight of the vehicle and horsepower of the motor.

I like the combo with 373 gears personally. Pulls extremely hard down low and cruises nice and slow up at highway speeds as well. I didn't like the 6.2/6speed/3.42 geared trucks with the 20" tires. Seemed to exaggerate the 1st to 2nd gear ratio drop in the tranny and bog the engine. I wish you could get the 373's beyond the NHT package as I would want a Sierra All Terrain or Z71 Plus Chevy with 373's. But it's the way the cookie crumbles.
