Body Molding.....remove?

I recently bought this truck and plan clean it up a bit. I'm looking for opinions on removing the molding or not. And possibly if anyone has a black truck that they have done to this to and could post a pic.

I think the molding on the Sierra's looks cool. I would leave them on.

You will be sorry if you remove them unless you dont park next to other cars, I have a few scuffs on mine and if they were not there it would be a dent and a scuff in the door. If you dont like the chrome then paint them black.

I think they look better on a white truck like mine. If you notice all the molding is removed from the black truck. Losem and walk a little bit further going to the store and such. I think you will like it!

The GMC molding does look good... but not on a black truck.

I appreciate everyone's response. I do believe i will be removing the molding along with the 4x4 sticker. For the molding i'm assuming fishing line and goo gone from what i have read from other post.

 

As far as the protection that the molding provides, that is a valid concern. But i live in middle Ga and i feel i can get away w/o having it. I usually find parking spots that are not very populated anyway.

Instead of Goo Gone, I used Duck brand adhesive remover that comes with a plastic scraper on the cap. It worked better than the Goo Gone when I was debadging and the plastic scraper made i MUCH easier.

Heat gun, dental floss, goo gone, clay bar, and wax. Done

3M adhesive remover is the best if you can find it.

 

 

Goo Gone works good too. That is what I used to remove some of my emblems. For the stubburn adhesive use some WD40, it will take it right off.

I pulled the 4X4 sticker off of my GMC with no help from anything. Picked a hot day and pulled slowly. And this was after owning the truck for 2 years. If it came down to it I might have used a hair dryer on a cold day if necessary.

I think they look much better if you remove them, and regardless if you park far enough away in a lot you shouldn't have any door dingers for that to matter.

+1 to that, clay bar will help get the stubborn left behind goo off the paint, and def. wax afterwards
