Wheel Offset & Tires On 09 Gmc 4x4

I would go with the 20's without question if I were going to wrap them with 35"ers or bigger, but with 33's, that is a little too much rim for me. I went with the 18"x9"ers. :P

Hey Dave... the 1.5" body lift and 2" leveling kit would make it a bit easier to clear any of those combinations on the aftermarket wheels... but honestly my recommendation is to get the 3" body lift and the 1.5" leveling kit. The smaller the leveling kit the better the front end geometry will be which will help in terms of wear and tear and ride quality. Not to mention that even with the 1.5" BL and 2" leveling kit you may still run into some rubbing issues with the aftermarket wheels and some of those tire combinations. 4-4.5" lift is really the perfect height for these trucks to clear 33s cleanly on a 9" wide wheel

I have the 3" BL and no one can tell...(no leveling kit though)

Those are the ugliest wheels I have ever seen.

but they look good on your truck.

Just kidding man. They look really good on there. First time I have seen them on a white truck. :P

I went with the Moto Metal 951's in 18"x9" with the +18mm offset.

I went with the Cooper Discoverer STT in LT305/60R18.

Absolutely LOVE the wheel & tire combo on my truck. :D

Total lift is 4", with CCM 2.5" leveling kit and Zone Offroad 1.5" Body Lift.

There was absolutely no rubbing or scrubbing, which means no trimming to make the stuff fit.

I will try to post some pics when I get a chance.

Very nice. That looks like what a 4x4 truck should look like.

Could you provide some fender measurements? Also how do you like the STT's after you have had some time with them?

Posted

Thank you kindly for the compliment!

Fender measurements are the same all the way around at a height of 41".

I really like the Cooper STT's. They are not noisy at all, very surprising to me after I saw the aggressive tread pattern.

They do ride a bit rougher, but that is a given. They have hurt the gas mileage a bit as well. I get about 12-13mpg around town now.

I am very pleased with my setup. It's not too tall that you can't reach inside the bed and get something.

Happy Trails !!!

That's a good lookin truck :)

I have 285/75/17 on my truck with 2" leveling spacers in the front and a 1.5" lift shackle in the rear. I just ordered a Zone 3" BL and a set of 315/70/17 Kumho MT KL71's. Here's a pic of it now I'll post another next week with more lift and tires

Both of your guys trucks look good. :fume:

FYI-

08 Blk GMC sierra crew cab 2wd

2.5" CCM front level kit

Blk RBP 94's +10mm offset with machined face... wheels about flush with the widest top portion of fender

Cooper zeon ltz 275/60/20

A wheel store guy tells me 305/55/20 A/T would fit without rubbing... Hummm well maybe with the factory +35mm offset? Who knows.... I think the 285/55/20 would be a perfect size, but it's only in nitto 10 ply for a grip of cash, if you want all terrain tire. Well with my +10mm offset wheel, I'm about 3/8" (measured) from rubbing on inner plastic while turning, with the 275/60/20. I would say 275/55/20, or 285/50/20 would be a safer bet. Both a tad bit wider, but 1" shorter. I read and investigated for about 3 weeks, and determined everyone had their own opinion on what does/does not work. It appears if you don't want a lifted truck (other than 2.5" leveling kit), and dont want to cut or modify, stay close to factory offset, and stay in the range of 32" high, and no more than 12" wide... On the conservative side, I would probibly go with 275/55/20 for my next tire due to my rim offset. If anyone has the Cooper in 275/55/20, and wants to trade the 55 for the 60, I only have about 50 miles on the tires (2 days old). I hope my research can be helpful to someone...

Hey Jacobrivers, that is a nice truck. Man, I LIKE THAT BUMPER!!! That is a beefmaster bumper. I hit a deer with my old truck (1999 Chevy Z71) a couple of years ago and bent up the front end a bit.

I guarantee that bumper you have will stand up to the best of 'em. :D

Who is the manufacturer of that bumper? About how much (if you don't mind me asking) did it cost?

Thanks!!

It's made by RanchHand out of Texas. I paid $800 for the front and $459 for the rear from a local distributer.

Here is RanchHand's websitehttp://www.ranchhand.com/default.aspx. I LOVE THEM, I'm just waitin on a deer to try his luck :happysad:
