Fog Lights

I have a 2009 silverado ext cab LT. I am wanting to put fog lights on but have a few questions. I know i will have to buy a new bumper to get the factory look, but the dealership told me that I was looking at a lot of money to have it done. They said that I would have to install toggle switches and much more. Anyone else done this? If you any help or advice would be appreciated.

You don't have to buy a new bumper,GM has an accessory fog light kit out that gives you the bumper end-caps,lights,harness,switch,and all necessary items needed to install it.

i did it myself, not that difficult at all, dealership wants your money

no need for any programming, plug and play on my 08 silverado

read this thread, its how i found out the part number for my color, they come painted already :seeya:

Any ideas on where to order the kit... sorry for the question and I know it probably sounds stupid but I dont order very many parts I just like the look of the fog lights on the trucks wanted them originally but did good to get the truck I got couldnt afford anymore

I just had them installed at my dealer for $350, parts and install. However, it was the first time they had done a fog light install, so they had no idea how long it was going to take. The guy took his time and did it right, but they had the truck almost 6 hours. So I paid $250 for the parts and $100 for the install, if they have done it before I doubt you would get them installed for that low of a price.

You think these dealerships would get it by now. This dealership that 09Z71 was talking about could have easily made a couple of bucks by doing a little research and finding out that this is a simple install. Instead of focusing finding ways to overcharge you for an oil change maybe they could be a little more helpful in working with the guys who want to spend money customizing their vehicles.

My dealership is the same way, it drives me nuts!

you could order it from gmpartsdirect.com, they take a while to ship though,

i asked the local dealership to match the gmpartsdirect price, not all dealerships will, doesnt hurt to try....

got it in two days as opposed to a week(s) with gmpartsdirect

sure, just order the two lights and the switch. The sub harness must have a part number as well. I know in Canada, it is cheaper to order the the kit as opposed to just the two lights and the switch for a Sierra (the only other part is the subharness for the Sierra).

Look over at chevy parts vs gmpartdirec for a better price. Im not sure the part # but you can probably either call or email them and find out.

I started a similar thread in another section. They don't have my color yet either. The dealer quoted me $450 for white ones that I could get painted. If you are in to EBAY much cheaper on there. I haven't check gmpartsdirect yet.

Or just search in EBAY for Fog Lamp Package

I've also seen kits that claim to have everything but the corner pieces, so I'm guessing your supposed to cut holes in your stock ones?
