No Extended Cab For '10 Hd?

So it seems for '10 the GM has had the bright idea to only offer reg. and crew cab HD trucks. The Chevy website has just been updated for '10 and does not offer an option in build your own for ext. cab. That seems like a bad idea to me, I know a lot of guys (like myself) that don't have a family to haul around but want some extra space in the cab for misc. stuff and don't want to pay an extra couple for the crew, way to go gm for yet again giving us less choices.

I find that hard to believe. I'd bet the website is effed up.

I sure hope that is the case. Any of you guys out there with some inside knowledge who can confirm or deny this?

I know you can still get a long bed Ext cab half ton in 2010, I would be shocked if they offered that combo, but not in an HD version as well. I bet the website is just jacked up.

Ft Wayne assembly will start building ext gassers only for 10 soon, Pontiac Assembly pre-built ext diesels for 10, thats probably why some cannot be ordered, also Flint Assembly will build gassers only soon also, due to the new emission standards. They pre-built some diesels early enough to avoid the new standards.

Probably is true. The new Website has been up for about a week now and I noticed back then that we can't get the Extended Cab for the Duramax. I'll check my brochure for the 2010 when I get home but I think this is indeed the case.

The 2010 models are only going to be in production for a few months. The 2011 models with the new LML diesel and new chassis are scheduled to start in April.

So I'm not surprised that they will only make a few ext. cabs, which are probably the lowest selling cab anyways.

Pontiac's closing has caused the delay in production of Ext-cab HD production, it was tranfered to Ft Wayne, they did not get any Diesels(LMM) they all went to Flint Assembly for the crew cabs. Ft Wayne will start building ext-HD soon but gassers only till 2011 model year, which is the end of June for them.

Theres no way that can be right. Why would they discontinue the most popular cab configuration they ever had? Even though I prefer a regular cab you cant argue they sold a ton of extended cabs... No way in hell.....

Mike............It was the same deal with 07 gmt-900 x-cab 2500s as production

didn't start untill Feb. 07. So with the 2500 production moving to a new factory

I can see the delay till after the start of the year.

I want a 10 x-cab 2500 so I will keep my fingers crossed!
