Strange Trany Shifting

Ok so i Live the as far south in louisiana as you can imagine basically, so as for mountains or any other type of elevation change i experience would be the I-10 and 210 bridges in Lake Charles and on occassion the I-10 bridge in Baton Rouge. Well i went to Branson Missouri a few months back and going through Arkansas and Missouri was an aventure for my truck. Going up the hills just seemed as if the transmission couldn't find the right gear to keep the engine from loading down, then as for going down it would down shift hard for a gear or two. Now even though i don't live in these kinds of elevations, i do know to keep it out of overdrive in these conditions. Does anybody else have these issues with the new 6 speed trany or is there just something wrong with mine?

put it in tow mode to keep it from going into overdrive.

but it shouldn't be going into overdrive if you are climbing/going down mountains.. you should downshift while going down mountains to keep from roasting your brakes.

Is that a change. My 05 goes into overdrive in towmode, just at a higher RPM.

Tow haul on hold gears longer,TCC lockup and release MPH is increased, line pressure is alittle higher for alittle firmer shifts and torque managment setting are different than when off on some trucks
