N-fab Vs. Go Rhino

Recommended Posts

Looking for some step bars b/c the boss is short and whining about climbing up into the truck.

I've come to like the look of the n-fab and rhino steps.....wondering if there are strong opinions on one over the other? My search results seemed to tilt a little more towards the n-fabs....I'd like to hear a few more opinoins...I'd love to see pictures of these on grey-stone trucks.

I have the N-fabs on my truck. They are great. I would go with them again with any truck I had. Here is a side view for you.

I went with the go rhino dominators. love them and wouldn't trade them for anything. Thought about going with nfags at first but ultimately decided with the rhinos since the support bar isn't as "thick" and round. I think both work really well but I really like mine.

I won't buy nfabs or any other ever again. had them on my NNBS silverado for 2 weeks and just from the tires kicking up rocks and salt the paint was all chipped and rusted bad. y end of first winter they looked 10 years old peeling powercoat. Nfab sent me a new set too becuase the first set stuck out into front wheel well too much and with a 4inch lift and 34's the tires rubed the tubes. The secound set fit good but paint chiped the same.....no good unless you live in NO SALT and dry conditions....or you buy the stainless ones if they make them yet.....I think a bunch of people have rino lined or line xed them too.....but they will just rot from inside out in a few years in salt.

Those look sharp, I like the slightly lower profile look of them over the N-fabs.

Couple questions. I couldn't find it on the Go Rhino site, but do you know what the weight capacity is for those? Also, do you think you could Line-X them (I'm thinking color-matched would look nice) and not use that chrome step plate, or would that leave holes or cause some other issue?

Not sure on the weight capacity. Maybe I can find the paper work that came with them and it might be in there somewhere. I know it'll hold up a couple hundred pounds. Me and my dad stood on one side at the same time and thats about 400 lbs total and it held up fine. Feels really sturdy.

Alot of people do Line X them. Theres some guys on here who have done it already. Can't remember who but I know I've read threads about it. I actually thought about getting it done eventually. As far as the chrome step plate it comes pre screwed into it. Not sure if you can take it off, never really looked. I'm sure it would leave holes though. Line X would fix the chrome problem though.

And so far I have no problems with peeling or anything. I live in the south and we don't need to put salt on the road so idk. But no problems with them so far

Not too sure about the weight capacity, but I weigh right around 250lbs and I have zero issues with their durability. Really the only reason I went the GR's over the NFabs was the price. Both are very nice.

Does anyone else have either NFab or Rhino where there is lots of salt and snow? I was looking at the NFab ones and up here in Canada the stainless are like $700. Where the black are $469. Not sure if I should wait it out and save some extra cash to get the stianless ones.

Trust me, i ended up taking them off, after one winter and two sets of them. Get the stainless ones.......i loved them but if you live in snow/salt country then stainless is the only way.

I had mine Line-Xed before the snow came here. I got mine from 4wheelparts.com when they had some specials going on. Paid around $370 for them shipped. Having them coated works great in the winter.

I went back and forth tyring to decide between the N-Fab steps and the Go Rhino DII steps. More or less became a flip of the coin and went with the N-Fabs.

I am selling the GM 6" ovals and replacing them with the "less-conspicuous" N-Fabs. The GM steps are a great product, but I want something that isn't so obvious!!

They should be here Tuesday. I'll post pics after I install them!

I like the look of your nFabs and am thinking of getting a set myself. My Sierra has a leveling kit also and I was thinking about getting the Harley Bars because I didn't want to lose any clearance from the steps hanging down, they are mainly just to protect the rockers. Can you tell me if the steps on yours hang down past the frame? If they don't I will go with the step bars. Also, yours look like they have are thicker than the pics on the nfab web site. Am I imagining things or did they maybe change up the design?

I love my Dominator II's and wouldnt trade them for any other. i had them Line X'd as soon as i got them. If I had to do it over again, i would not line x the step plate, It gets somewhat slippery when wet. Instead I would powdercoat the step plate black and still linex the rest. I put them side by side with the N-Fabs and the only difference I could see is that the step seems to come down a bit lower on the Dominators and the support bar is thicker.
