Hi all I have missed having a truck these past four years and am looking for a bit of advice,I am looking at a left over 2009 gmc 2500 4x4 6.0 litre reg cab for $27,000 is this a good price or should or could i get better.I have previously owned a 2007 silverado 1500 4x4 5.3 and loved it also had a ram and ehhh liked it but my heart is with GM.

I am interested in knowing what mpg i can expect as this seams to be hard to find out. Thanks !!!

Welcome aboard. As for the mileage, I don't believe the manufacturers are required to put mileage figures on the stickers for the heavy duty trucks.

Not to sure about the price, but I guess it sounds good. As far as mileage goes, you'll see 13-15mpg at most. It's a good solid truck, so if your getting it to tow, it will do a nice job. :fume:

Its not a locker or a limited-slip,You have what they consider an "open" differential.

I just noticed this and my truck came with this package

Trailering Equipment, Heavy-duty, includes trailering hitch platform and 2.5-inch receiver with 2" adapter, 7-wire harness (harness includes wires for: park lamps, backup lamps, right turn, left turn, electric brake lead, battery and ground) with independent fused trailering circuits mated to a 7-way sealed connector, wiring harness for after-market trailer brake controller (located in the instrument panel harness), heavy-duty automatic locking rear differential, integrated trailer brake controller and single wire for center high-mounted stop lamp.

So must be part of the package

If you don't have the G80 code then you have an open diff. It's not a bad thing, it's just not as good as having a locker. My 09 is my first truck with one and I made it years with an open diff without much problems except in heavy snow.
