Looking For A Center Console

Recommended Posts

I am looking for a console or something that I can put on the hump on the floor that has good storage, at least 2 cup holders, and won't tip over and doesn't look cheap. I would also like it to come close to the color of the ebony color that my seats are.

I have been to the GM site and don't like those, also checked out Pep Boys and other stores but can't seem to find a nice one.

Any ideas?

Just bought an ebony center console from ebay. It wasn't cheap but it's brand new so I'm happy with it. I paid $450 including shipping. If you're interested, I'll give you the guys's e-mail address. By the way, this is for NB Silverado.

Is it the LT2/SLE2 center console that extends all the way to the dash or the shorter, SLT/LTZ style? I've been looking for more than a year for the longer style.

Sorry for the late reply. Here is the pic that I promised.

What size Torx socket did you use to remove the seat/jumpseat?

How hard was it to remove the old seat and install this new console? I really like it!

I just swapped mine out today, found a someone who wanted a jumpseat rather than their LT2 console. Traded them straight up, it took a little over an hour to change both of ours.

Very easy install...

You will need a ratchet and deep wall External Torx Sockets E-16 & E-18

Torx Sockets

1. Remove Torx bolts under the seat closest to the center console (front used E-18, rear used E-16)

2. Loosen outer Torx bolts closet to the doors, no need to completely remove these (front used E-18, rear used E-16)

3. Disconnect powercord for cigarette outlet

- LT1 outlet is between jumpseat and passenger seat

- LT2 outlet is under center storage tray

4. Removal of console

Used 2 people

- 1 person up front lifting/pushing the seats out towards the door

- 1 person in the back seat, pulling the console out

I bought one of these last night. This is the longer version of the center console for the GMT900 "true truck" dash. I searched ebay daily for these for a year and a half without luck. The LTZ/SLT style consoles are aplenty, but these are rare. I figured I would share the information for anyone else who may be looking for one:

Note: The picture looks like the lighter color, but it is ebony.

    • We've done a bunch of them.  Very common failure.  They don't sell the park position switch separate from the shift control assembly which is stupid, because they ended up selling a switch on some other products like 2016-2019 Malibu, 2018-2019 Traverse, 2019 Blazer, and another car or two as those were having the same issue for years (but these have a console mounted shifter not column mounted).
    • .30” of rain all month and it’s been weeks since that. “Mowed” our two properties today for the first time since July 2nd. It only took 30 minutes because all I had to do was level some weeds and saplings in a few problem areas. Everything else is dead.
    • Dealer reported a failed shifter module assembly so the whole shifter is getting replaced. Yet another premature repair… up to $12,000+ in extended warranty payout in only 5 years and 80,000 miles!
    • According to the dealer it’s an internal leak/failure of the compressor.  Again, another failure that shouldn’t happen at only 5 years and 80k miles.  For some reason the compressors must be hard to come by right now, because the truck’s been at the dealer almost a week and they just located a compressor at another dealer several states away today.  We’ll see if this fixes the issue.
    • I'm not sure if this should be a reply on this thread or a new topic, let me know if it's out of place. This my first post. Thanks 85077522 - ACDelco GM Genuine Parts Brake Master Cylinders. Anyone else had to replace this brake master cylinder yet. I didn't do any brake work, it looks like new parts and I've had the truck for about 4k miles. When it started to throw codes I did the calibrations with a bidirectional scanner and got the codes to clear but they came back so i did the routine; base bleed, automated bleed and final base bleed. All that with Bosch ES16-32N fluid (please look it up). That seemed to fix it but 100ish miles later it failed again so I ran the same process but with a pressure bleeder this time and got the same results, fixed for 100ish miles. The original fluid looked bad and I thought I got most of it out. The codes; P25A2, C05B0-00, C2A1B. I can get them to clear but not for long. The C05B0 indicates a leak in the front circuit (which is bone dry) so I'm thinking of doing the bleed process on that front again today and I don't know if that's taboo to just do the front but at this point it seems like it's worth the try anyway. The new master cylinder/module unit is supposed to get here today. But now I'm pretty much convinced this install is over my head. I've called several shops and some mobile guys that I know but this thing is like radio active material scary wise. I did get 2 local shops say they should be able to do it, one says he has the SPS2 programing capability. And with the battery disconnected is there supposed to be pedal resistance, mine is to the floor, then if I pump it I can get some resistance.
