09-10 Gauge Cluster In 07-08 Sierra...?

I'm installing the GM rearview mirror monitor & camera system next week... which means I will lose my built-in compass & thermometer.

Anyone out there know if the 2009-2010 SLE's 6-gauge cluster will plug-n-play in my 2007? I'd love to keep the temp but if it's too much drama then I'll have to learn to live without it. Thanks...

Wouldn't it have been easier to install the in-dash navi with the rear camera there and keep your mirror with temp/compass? Sorry, can't help you with gauge cluster compatibility question.

I don't think the physical '09-10 cluster is any different than the '07-08.

The content displayed on the DIC screen is controlled by the BCM, so you'd probably have to see if there's a way to flash the TIS calibration file for the newer trucks that has the compass and temp display in the cluster onto your '07 BCM without any negative side effects....

Considering the troubles we're having with the '09 VCIMs in older trucks, I have serious doubts about being able to program the cluster to work either. By no means am I qualified to say it can't be done, but be advised, it most likely won't be a smooth process...

When it comes to software, anything is possible. All he can do is try, and either it works or it doesn't. I've found some very interesting stuff rooting around in TIS for various things. In fact, I just noticed that they've added a new software module called "VCIM set-up" that makes me wonder if maybe GM themselves are working on a retrofit solution....

:dunno:
