2007 Silverado 1500 Max

Hey everybody!

A month ago I bought a 2007 Chevy Silverado 1500 Max Crew Cab with black leather and am LOVING IT! Traded in my 2002 Corvette Z06 in electron blue for this truck. Do I miss the Vette? You gotta be crazy to think I don't. Had alot of mods and was crotch-rocket killing fast. Was it functional in Missouri, especially in the Winter? ABSOLUTELY NOT! Wish I could have kept it....but money is tight and she had to go.

I am very interested in putting a 2 1/2 to 3" leveling or lift on the truck and was curious as to what kits you all recommend....and be reminded that I am on a small budget and will hopefully be able to install myself as well. I would like to be able to fit 20" wheels w 33"-35" tires (Toyo Open Country's). Is this doable without going to the major expensive 6" lift kits, etc? Would I need a body lift too?

I figured that you all would be THE BEST people to ask about this stuff since you all are GM truck nuts!

Also, I saw a used set of 20" GMC factory wheels. What's the biggest size tire I can put on that wheel? I am looking to sell my GM 22" wheels and Goodyear tires. Only 1 1/2 months old. Thanks! I'll try and attach a picture or two.

Nate

Congrats on the new truck. You can fit 33" tires pretty easy, but inorder to get 35" tires, you'll need at least a 6" lift. A custom tune or Diablo hand held really wakes up the vmax. A must in my book simply because the throttle delay is horrible stock.

And Welcome to the site!

thats a nice truck.. i have only even seen those rims once and that was on a GMC at a dealership..

Yah, me too. Very hard to find on the web as well. Dealer threw them on the truck to sell it. I didn't neccesarily want the wheels and tires (although I do agree they do look good) because I would like to be able to see some kind of non-paved road of off road terrain without being worried about screwing up the 22" wheels! I eventually want to have 35" Toyo open country tires on 20" black wheels. I have somebody via craigslist who wants to buy the wheels and tires for $2k (these cost nothing to me since they didn't add anything to the price of the truck when the dealer put them on there). New per gmpartsdirect.com is $2,999. I've driven on them for a month and a half and they have some light scratches (nothing major at all). That $2k may afford me to buy the wheels and tires....and I may just have to go with 33" tires right now.
