Problem is the Escalade is a Suburban + $$$$$$$$$$$$$. You pay more for the badging, some interior bits, different plastics and nicer interior, but the markup on the name is high. After a year, the fluff depreciates out.

 

So when they tag it for "value" then the Cadillac line isn't something you'd be looking for. You buy it for the image and presitage.

 

I would have thought it would have did better in the safety department though?

I am surprised about the Colorado/Canyon pickups. Ever since they abandoned the old proven 4.3 liter work horse, these trucks have not been the same. Also, they are priced ridiculously high right now. For example, a full size Z71 crew cab 4X4 could be bought for only $ 1k more than a Colorado Z71 4x4 crewcab. This is due to very slim rebates on the Colorados/Canyons right now.

Neither do I. Screw them! I do my own testing and comparisons. I don't need anyone telling me what to buy or what not to buy.
