To the guy's that have replaced there steering shafts, what did you use to hold the steering wheel from spinning.

Im getting ready to do this but for the life of me I cant find anyone who sells the anti rotation pin anywhere other then ebay and I dont want to wait 3 weeks to get it.(live in Canada)

Is there anything I can safely use like a small screw driver or some other homemade device? I cant belive Mac and Snap On have never heard of such a tool? I wanna get this done tomorrow night.

To the guy's that own the pin, would you be able to measure the diameter and length of the pin?

Thanks

I just moved my seat forward and then used the seat belt through the bottom on the steering wheel and then slid the seat back to put tension on it.

Steering wheel has 4 spokes..... loop bottom 2 and tie off to seat.... tight enough to not allow movement of the wheel... Smile and grin as you just saved some dough to buy the blasted shaft with.....

The need for the tool is because they removed the steering wheel lock..... Preventing it in any way that will make the steering wheel not turn will solve the problem.... think outside the tool box on this one..... thing rope, ratchet strap, wife, duck tape, mechanics wire, etc etc etc..... buddy **just wait on the free beers till after you get the shaft back in :thumbs::thumbs::D **
