Fyi: Rc 3" Premium Kit

Well first off I know a lot of you on here have said that the ball joints that came with the 3" Rough Country "Premium" lift were junk.

(any china made ball joint) like the ones in that kit won't last and I knew that. However; mine lasted longer than I thought. I got a lil over 20K on them before they went and they went all of a sudden. I called RC and told them my ball joints went bad. They asked what kit i had looked up my receipt and overnighted me brand new ball joints. Duralast i believe. I do not think that that is to bad. It took a whole 40 mins to change them out since then bolt in. Actually took longer to get the truck up with my sh!tty jack and get the wheels off than to replpace the actual ball joints.

Also, i was asked months ago to get the fender measurements. Finally remembered and they are below:

Front Driver = 40"

Front Passenger = 40"

Rear Driver = 40.25"

Rear Passenger = 40.625

I also purchased a 1.5 Zone body lift that will be going on. I also am currently running damn near bald 275/55/20's.

When i get the tires I want (275/60) i will put the BL on and measure again.... so about a year from now ill remember.

Well, I am brand new here and wish I had looked into this site prior to buying the RC 3" kit. I just installed it ywo days ago, and the ball joinst went. And since it is Friday nite (and I live in Canada), I'm hooped! They lasted 2 f***'in days! Now I have to pay big $$$ and get them done tomorrow as I need my truck for Monday. I wish I went with teh RC 2" and Readylift 3" blocks for teh rear to have the same height/look.

I do love the way it looks though. Finally looks like a real truck.

about time someone has noticed how horrible rc is. That's why I never buy any of their products and reccomend other brands to people seeking advice. I had a buddy who had the 3" suspension by rc and he ball joints went first and the other parts starting giving out. They're cheap and that's why everyone on here likes them. It all comes down to the fact that RC is a waste of money on a new vehicle.

Where have you been? We have been warning against that kit for a looong time since many of us have once had the pleasure of installing the "Junk" Country 3".

matt, he's talking about the 2" kit that everyones running.

while the 3" "lift" is absolute crap, theres no difference between RCs 2" spacer vs, any other company.... its just a spacer. The RC spacer is actually preferred due to its installation location.

haha matt I knew you'd say something, you're always right behind me when I complain ;) but I was talking about the spacer, I was talking about RC in general. I assume nothing can be wrong with their spacer considering it's a piece of metal just like anyother kit.

and yeah.. RC definitely has a shaky reputation. although i havent heard of many issues with their full suspension lifts it seems like its hit-or-miss in terms of customer service.
