Quick Help! Truck Wont Shut Off!

sold my truck today to a kid out in illinois. He is driving it and goes to make a pit stop for gas and says the truck wont shut off! he can take the key out of the ignition with no problem but it sill not shut off, just keeps running. He said he tries using the remote start but wasnt sure if he did it right?

 

anyone maybe have a quick answer? I told him to disconnect the negative battery cable and then re try. any quick helop would be appreciated

disconnecting battery would not do it cause the alternator would keep it running. if he is on his way home maybe shuting it off isn't the answer but if you must pull the fuse for the ignition system. no spark no more running. but even if you kill the engine sounds like the truck might still have power and not really shut off. but after the engine stops running you can then pull the battery so there is no more electrical power to the vehicle. that may be enough to get it to reset. and if lucky everything would go back to normal.

Its gotta be the after-market remote start. If it hasn't been fixed, it should stop with that automatic shut off (empty gas tank!).

One of my old remote starts let me press the button on remote to allow truck to stay running ad i was able to take key out and lock door.. I bet thats the issue...
