Refrigerant 2001 Sub

My name is Rick, I am new to the forum.

I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban 2500 8.1L it is not cooling as well as it was. The information tag under the hood says the vehicle should be charged with R22 or equivalent is this correct? The tag is somewhat faded and we have had no previous problems with the ac. I would like to recharge the system as I have an HVAC license. However I know the oils are not compatible to 134a and wish to bring everything to specs.

Should be 134a in that vehicle, unless someone changed it themselves. It left the factory with 134a.
