Just got my first new to me Gmc 08 2500hd cc 6.0l z71 sle2 truck. How can I tell what rear end it has =? 3:73 or 4:10 and does it have locker or limited slip.

Thanks, :(

Easiest way is to use the vin decoder and put in your vin number or find and RPO code lookup and get the codes out of your glovebox. I know someone on here has a link for an RPO code lookup or a vin decoder

Thanks, I found the vin decoder on here. It looks like I have the 3:73 with the limited slip rear end..

Thanks

The G80 is limited slip when used in cars. In the trucks, it's actually a locker.

Ok, good info I've been a ford man so Its good to know it's a locker and not limited slip so does it work after 3 turns of tire it locks up to positive!

There is a aluminum panel on the inside of your glove box, G80 is your locker, and G4 and G5 are your 2 options for gear choices.

As funny as it is.. my Z71 doesnt have a g80 with makes no sence to me but hey w/e..
