Gmt 900 Question

Recommended Posts

I just bought a 2010 GMC Sierra 1500 SLE 4x4 about three weeks ago. I love it, drives nice, a lot better on gas than my old 96 k1500 Suburban.

I just had a strange question though relating to the grille/hood of the GMT 900 1500 and HD models. I've always like the looks of the 2500 & 3500 models more, but when I was buying the truck I had no real need for a 3/4 ton so I went with the 1/2 ton.

From a quick glance, it just looks like the grille is a little higher in the 2500 versus the 1500, and the hood is a bit bigger as well, is there anyway the grille/hood from a 2500 would fit on a 1500? Or is it more to it than that, such as fenders being shaped differently and such.

Been Googling for days and I can't find a simple yes or no answer.

The bumper, lower filler panel, radiator core, and grille are all different. Hood and fenders are the same.

Personally I'm waiting for the 2011 HD GMCs to come out; I'm considering one of those new hoods with the "power bulge" in the center for my '08 1500. Should be a direct bolt-on without changing any other parts.

I think the "power bulge" would look sweet on my Avalanche!
